4.0 out of 5 stars Incredible performance - bad sound quality
These are indeed amazing performances. Pure and exuberant sounding expressions of faith - it's hard not to believe that she truly believes. 5 stars for the great Rosetta Tharpe but the recording quality is certainly lacking - which is surprising, for a (late) fifties recording by a major performer of popular music from the era. It's still worth buying, just as long as...

1.0 out of 5 stars Lousy sound quality
Don't be tempted at the low price. The quality is just gawd-awful, and it sounds like you're listening to it through a concrete wall. Sister's performance is excellent, but the joy and swing of her Decca, Mercury and Verve recordings are in low quantity on this disc.

5.0 out of 5 stars True worship...before she went secular., October 16, 2008
This review is from: Never Alone (MP3 Download)
You don't need "quality" recordings to show you what is worship...and this is it!! All of her later 'stuff' was more about the music and not the glorification of Jesus Christ. It eventually lead her to become worldly & secular, of which she should never have had a part. It is written that light & darkness do not mix...
