This is not my first Cynthia Eden novel, nor will it be my last, but I will tell you if you've never read Cynthia, first shame on you, second you'll have a great introduction to her fantastic writing with NEVER CRY WOLF. Just be warned once you read one novel by Cynthia, you'll want to read everything she's written! Now on to my thoughts about NEVER CRY WOLF. Lucas the hero of NEVER CRY WOLF, is all alpha, all the time. He's the "to die for hero" you'll love with a past that at times has you smiling, at times tearing up and at times laughing out loud. Same as his present. You'll love walking with him into love. But don't worry you'll love the great "guys" who are beside him as well. For me I think I fell hardest for his younger brother, Jordan but then there's Dane....and others. You'll have a whole lot of love to wanna share with these "men". Then there's Sarah, our heroine, she has secrets, some that will tee you off as much as they do Lucas, but she's strong and still "human" or rather realistic. For me I felt like I knew her. Yeah I got mad at her, but I also felt for her. You will too. This is a fast-paced, paranormal romantic suspense. You get good guys, bad guys, guys who you can't decide if they are good or bad and through it all you have a story that keeps you quickly turning pages. I stayed up all night to read this one and hated to turn the last page. I find even weeks later I'm still thinking about this book and these characters, I've actually gone back to reread parts just to remember things. Overall this was a great read, one that I'd highly recommend to everyone who loves shifters, great characters, a fascinating storyline, and a writing style that pulls you in from the first word. I am sooo eager for more and have a feeling you will be too!

Cynthia Eden know how to deliver a story. I have read almost everything she has published and I've loved every single one of them. Her stories are action packed, sensual and opens the door into your imagination. Anything is possible with her books. Never Cry Wolf is just another example.

This book, while it is a stand alone, also ties into her older book, Immortal Danger by bringing in the crossover characters of Maya and Adam.

Sarah is running scared. Being an animal charmer whose animal of choice is the psychotic wolf shifters is bad enough. But her wolf lover betrayed her and now wants her dead. Very very dead. Her only chance for survival is to gain protection from a pack. Sarah is willing to play the submissive role if it gains her their trust. She can't afford to lay all her hands on the table though, her secrets are hers and hers alone. She may not be as weak a human as she appears to be.

The appearance of Sarah is something Lucas is very suspicious about. She is everything that seems to make his inner beast roar in protective fury. She is a warm and supple human female, but her eyes hold secrets her mouth isn't saying. Lucas knows there is more to her story then she is willing to share.

The wolves are descending in rapid pace. With the help of some black magic, Lucas and Sarah are outnumbered but will their growing feelings for each other be enough to keep them alive?

Loved loved loved this book! Lucas and Sarah exploded on every page. From the first moment Sarah saunters into the jail in her saucy clothes, to the climactic ending where love really does conquer all...*le sigh*...loved. I loved that Sarah played Lucas to a tee and that Lucas totally knew what was going on the entire time.

I typically Like Ms. Edens books very much but this one didn't do it for me. I thought the story was very weak, and, as other reviewers have pointed out, it seemed the alpha was extremely inept. Pardon the pun, but he seemed to spend most of his time chasing his tail, getting into altercations and being bested. Another point that really bothered me was that he was supposed to be alpha of the LOS ANGELES PACK and he only seemed to have about 6 members. All the other groups they were fighting each had a full complement of members, but, this pack had to make do with a handful. His pack members didn't seem too bright either. They kept getting blindsided and ending up endangering the other pack members by their carelessness. Where were the other pack members? children, mates, elderly?

I was also confused about why they had to fight in their animal state. I assumed that that honor dictated that one can't use weapons such as guns, knives, etc. against other shape shifters but that was not made clear and it seemed like a flaw in the plot considering the hyenas didn't seem to have any honor anyway.

Check it out of the library if you are bored or wait for the next book !

First off, I would like to clear up some confusion. At least I was confused. "Never Cry Wolf" is not part of the Night Watch series, though it does take place in the same universe. It DOES occur after "Immortal Danger", but doesn't seem to be part of an actual series. I know confusing, right? "Never Cry Wolf" can be read alone, but after reading it, I do plan to go out and get "Immortal Danger". It sounds like a great read.

Lies, deception and death. All three follow Sarah and she needs the help of a strong alpha to save her life. These are three things Lucas will not tolerate in his life.

Sarah King is not what she seems. At first glance she is all innocence and defenselessness. Sarah has many secrets and to save herself she can't let them be known. Sarah has reasons to be scared. Her ex is after her and he has a hefty price on her head. Every supernatural wants to collect and she is in dire need of a protector. She knows the LA pack alpha has a reputation of protecting the innocent and that is what she is counting on.

Lucas Simone is alpha through and through. He will protect what is his and his pack. With a past born of pain and blood, he has zero tolerance of brutality of the weak and innocent. When Sarah comes into his life, he knows she is trouble at first site. Their relationship begins on a lie and that is something he will not stand for. His pack is in danger and he will do anything to protect them and Sarah is the key to do just that. He just needs to prove to her that she can trust him.

What these two find is not what they expected. They will need to learn to trust each other and that is not easy for either of them. The stakes are high and together they need to work together to survive. Problem is...
