Editorial Reviews

Review

“More than ninety percent of my patients gain back most of the weight they lose. Why so little success? The simple answer is that the average person can’t stay on a diet permanently. But this program is different. It is not a diet, but a complete lifestyle, thought-process, and physiological transformation. The change comes from within, helping to make you a better person…not just a thinner person.”
–Barry S. Ross, MD, Tamarac, Florida

Never Say Diet provides a systematic approach to living a healthier, more balanced life. The food list that Chantel Hobbs presents is nutritious and, most important, enjoyable. Never Say Diet proves that fad diets don’t work and cannot substitute for creating a lifestyle that leads to attaining your goals.”
–Lon Ben-Asher, MS, LD/N, registered dietician, North Shore Medical Center, Miami, Florida

“The importance of Chantel’s story can’t be calculated in terms of burned calories or lost pounds, and it’s not her dramatic weight loss that makes her such a special person. It’s her willingness to credit God’s ability to totally transform lives. She reminds us that lasting change has to happen on the inside before it can happen on the outside, and that this change is within reach of anyone who’s willing to seize it.”
–Bob Coy, pastor of Calvary Chapel, Ft. Lauderdale, Florida

“You might be able to lose a few pounds with a crash diet, but it’s temporary. That’s why diets don’t work for people who need to lose a lot of weight. Instead of going on a diet, you need to make a lifestyle change. In fact, you must undergo a ‘brain change.’ Never Say Diet delivers just that.”
–Joseph Tedesco, DPT, ATC, CSCS, physical therapist, Elite Physical Therapy, Charlotte, North Carolina

The companion "The Never Say Diet Personal Fitness Trainer" is a journal with a little more motivation tossed in. You'll need "Never Say Diet" the book to use it. It's valuable if you plan to follow the program, but not necessary. If you have to make a choice between journal and book, buy the book.

This 16 week Personal Fitness Trainer journal is a great companion to the Never Say Diet book. Although the journal isn't necessary, it certainly would be helpful in tracking your progress and provides additional inspiration to stick with it.

Chantel Hobbs has put together a sixteen-week plan based on health and fitness. Of course, as she points out, in order to succeed one must have a clear direction and a committed heart to actually follow through. She uses scripture, quotes, and easy to follow practical rules. There's even a space for journaling.
Chantel Hobbs is a personal trainer and a motivational speaker. She knows her business and she shares that knowledge in The Never Say Diet, Personal Fitness trainer. By following the routines, anyone can be healthier and fitter. A different kind of diet book that will actually work.

This book is the perfect fitness workbook/journal. It walks you through sixteen weeks and helps you establish new habits that will help you burn off excess weight, increase your strength, and lead you into a new, healthy way of living.

In the book, Never Say Diet Personal Fitness Trainer, each weeks has a scripture, quote, encouragement, suggested exercises, food suggestions, and a place to journal everything you accomplished the week you are on.
This is a great book and should be purchased along with The Never Say Diet by Chantel Hobbs.

Perfect for : Personal Use, Support New Year's Resolutions or desire for change

In a nutshell: If you want to lose weight and keep it off, this 16 week program is a good one to start! This book is designed to be used along with the Never Say Diet book by Chantel Hobbs. It will provide the reader with inspirational scripture and quotes each week, along with information that provides emotional support, exercise goals and information on food. Additionally, it provides a place to record your progress and keep a food journal which I found to be VERY helpful as I found I was eating some things I didn't really even think about.

Extended Review:
Content: Per page 3, "As you use The Never Say Diet Personal Fitness Trainer, you will receive emotional support, practical advice on nutrition and exercise, and daily help in relying on God and trusting that He wants what is best for you. Addressing mind, body, and spirit - all three - is the key to bringing about permanent change."

Filled with chapters for each of the 16 weeks, the book helps you to track your progress.

Format: Each week starts out with a scripture and quote for the week, some inspirational information covering your mind, exercise and food for that week, and a place for you to record your activities each day along with a food log.

Readability: Very easy to read and follow.

Overall: A great addition to the Never Say Diet book that allows the reader to make personal notes and watch their progress as they go through the 16 week program.

This is an excellent book. There are so many diets out there and this is NOT a diet. It's a different way of thinking and living....and it works.
