From Publishers Weekly

In Winters's entertaining latest View Park novel, the Chase family plunges to new lows of deviousness. Patriarch Steven Chase, CEO of an ever-expanding upscale beauty chain, wishes to keep his grown sons on a tight leash and within the family company. However, Kimberly, wife of eldest son Michael, is intent on bringing down her mother-in-law, and younger son Carter goes to dangerous lengths to hide a dark secret from his fiancée. Add to the mix Steven's two grown daughters: Leigh, a do-gooder doctor whose idealism frustrates her mother, and Haley, a spoiled club kid who gets involved with a dangerous club owner, and trouble is never far away. As the plots converge, Steven stands to lose his mini-empire and family. Though the characters function as embodiments of their faults, the pacing is fast and the drama unrelenting. (July)

From Booklist

Chase Beauty, the Chase family's billion-dollar line of salons and products, enables them to live in style in the weatlhy African American Los Angeles suburb of View Park. Steven and Janet are the driving force behind the business, and they have four children. Carter, a lawyer, becomes engaged to Avery, a salon owner whose business was absorbed by Chase Beauty. Michael works with and strives for his father's approval, while his wife, Kimberly, the mother of their two children, has quite a checkered past. Leigh is a doctor who works in clinics around the world but is not speaking to her mother. And Haley is the wild child currently between scandals. Winters' novel follows the family through drug addiction, physical abuse, and power plays. Lies and deception are the norm in this household, where there's enough high drama to rival Dallas or Dynasty, complete with cat fights. Winters has written a real page-turner. Hatton, Maria

Janet disapproves of Michael and Kimberly relationship as man and wife and will do anything to keep them at odds. Leigh is the doctor of the family who work all over the world in various nonprofitable clinics, who Janet tries to win back her love. Haley is the wild child of the family, always in trouble one way or another....

Never Enough reminds you of the Dynasty the filthy rich, the deep dark secrets, no one is good enough for the Chase children, and more money then they can spend....Never Enough will keep you coming back for more of the suspense filled drama. Angela Winters have created a very descriptive and well written novel. Kudos to you Mrs. Winters, can't wait for the third installment.

4.0 out of 5 stars The Family that Stays Together, July 29, 2007

This review is from: Never Enough (Paperback)
In the second novel of the View Park series, The Chase family, from all appearances, seem to be perfect. Steven and Janet Chase make quite a team running their family and business empire. They have maintained a tight reign on their children, but a few things have gotten beyond them that threaten to unravel the family at its very seam.

Michael Chase is married to Kimberly. Janet has always considered Kimberly a bad choice for Michael and the family, so she spends every day reminding Kimberly she is not welcomed. Kimberly, in desperation to keep her husband and her status, looks for anything that will be an equalizer and get Janet off her back. She starts digging around in Janet's closet, looking for any skeletons that will give her the upper hand. Michael, on the other hand, can only pray that whatever Kimberly is up to, doesn't cost him his position with his father and his desire to one day head Chase Beauty.

Carter Chase is engaged to Avery, who seems to be a nice fit in the family. Janet welcomes her into the fold, until she realizes Avery isn't going to be the pushover she expects. Carter, on the other hand, is desperately in love with Avery and prays she never finds out his little secret, because he just might lose the one thing he truly wants.

The daughters, Leigh and Taylor, are a mixed breed of rebels. Leigh refuses to have anything to do with Janet; therefore she stays away from anything that involves her mother. Taylor is the spoiled and willful one; used to having things her way, she isn't quite prepared for the new love interest in her life.

In NEVER ENOUGH by Angela Winters, the Chase family is a modern-day replica of the Ewings family from the TV drama series, Dallas. This story is laced with intrigue, scandal, dirty office politics, and enough secrets to scare the skeletons back into the closet. Winters has done an excellent job of tying it all together and keeping the readers on the edge of their seats in this stand-alone novel to the series. The characters are sensational and really do a good job of evoking emotions. You will either love them or love to hate them.
