Never Furl Non-Wrapping Device For 1 in. Diameter Pole

I have owned this product for several years. It's the only way to go. When my flag and pole were stolen, I replaced them with two flagpoles- both equipped with these. Even in the strongest winds, my flags stay free!

Basically, if you have a nylon flag, that really doesn't weigh much, it's going to furl. If the flag doesn't have enough to weigh itself to hang freely, it will furl. It does however allow for "Old Glory" to fly freely in any direction of wind.

This works well, especially if you are in a high wind area like us. Before using this guy our flag was wrapped up about 80% of the time. I've just had it installed for one week but have only had one wrap up in that time. When the wind is very light it is possible to get a wrap up and then the wind is not strong enough to cause the gadget to rotate and unwrap the flag. Also, if the flag gets wet, and thus obviously heavier, it probably won't work until the flag dries out. However, one wrap up in a week is a major improvement over what we previously had.

Update after about two months: still had wrap ups about twice a week on average, so I added a Teflon washer (the shape of a typical garden variety metal washer, probably a little under 1/16" thick). And that has really made a big difference -- I've only had one wrap up in the past 60 days.

Product arrived perfectly. Works exactly as advertised. No problems, no issues. Great product!

The no furl devices are large and clumsy looking but work except as noted below.
Our pole is mounted on a 60 degree angle. We just ordered an adjustable flag holder so that we can lower the angle to 45 degrees. I believe this will cure the problem noted in the following commentary.
The top device spends much of its time with the flag draping over it and not in the same position as the bottom device until a very stiff breeze moves it out of its holding position.
However, the devices perform beautifully and w/o a problem with the pole mounted in the horizontal position.
