She really enjoyed it, moreso than any other chapter book (Judy Moody, Juney B, etc) Highly recommended and the boxed set makes a great gift.

UPDATE (10/23/2013):
The first four books of this great new Disney Fairies series is now available in a Collection/Set at a bargain price:
The Never Girls Collection #1 (Disney Fairies)

=========================

My 6 year old daughter is a big fan of Disney Fairies. Her favorite color is blue so her favorite fairy is Silvermist. She has been a big fan of the Pixie Hollow Tales book series and we probably have a dozen of those books. When we saw this new series, we picked up the first book as soon as we could. The first Never Girls book was great. It had a slightly lower reading level making it a better reading book for my daughter. She is good with the first series, but struggles on a few words here and there. In addition, there is a lot of consistency between the Never Girls series and the Pixie Hollow series meaning some of the terms that are unique to the Disney Fairies universe are used in both books. The consistency makes the new series a great compliment to the original. Now that we knew she loved the Never Girls series, we ordered books 2 and 3, which she finished in a matter of a few days, and pre-ordered books 4, 5 and 6. Once Never Girls #4 arrived, she finished it in a matter of days and really enjoyed it just like the previous books. She can't wait for the next one. Highly Recommended for your Disney Fairies fan!

Here are all the books in the series so far:

This is the second book in the Never Girls series. I was pleased with the first book and this book is equally good and follows closely upon the first. "Never Girls" is a very engaging series. It seems well designed for its intended audience - readers who are ready for a book that is just a bit more advanced than a basic chapter book.

The four girls who visit Pixie Hollow, (Kate, Mia, Lainey, and Gabby), continue to display distinct personalities and are more developed as characters than I've generally found in books like this at this reading level. Kate is athletic and sporty; Lainey is the animal lover; Mia is a bit of a fashion maven; Gabby is Mia's five year old fairy obsessed sister.

It looks like Book 2 features Lainey, Book 3 features Mia and Gabby and Book 4 features Kate. Don't know beyond that, but there are at least a few more after them.

The plot for this book is a good one. The girls eventually return home and are bummed that they can't get back to Pixie Hollow. MILD SPOILER AHEAD. But creatures from Pixie Hollow show up in Mia's backyard and Mia's cat disappears. So, there's a leak or portal somewhere. Have to get the cat back from the Hollow and the fairy creatures back into the Hollow. Lots of running around and confusion. Very exciting stuff. So, as in the first book, there is some action, a bit of adventure, travel in and about Pixie Hollow, and more examples of common sense decision making

As before, the writing is direct, descriptive and not overly cutesy. The author respects the reader and the genre and isn't trying to have it both ways by mocking the fairy angle. That said, the books are generally cheerful, mild fantasy adventures, with a satisfying and pleasant feel.

My six year old daughter and I love this series and will read every book that is written. I really think it's a great idea. I wish the stories progressed a little but more than they do, my daughter likes the intrigue at the end of each chapter.

If your little girl loves fairies this is the series for them. It has all the fairies we have come to know and love from the new tinkerbell movies, but with new story lines. Keep Believing!

My daughter is in Kindergarten, but reads above her grade level. This book was a great combination of the more challenging chapter book format and the child-like whimsy of the Tinkerbell crew. She really enjoyed it, moreso than any other chapter book (Judy Moody, Juney B, etc)

Highly recommended and the boxed set makes a great gift.

I love this book. Although, I hate the part where the girls have to go home. It's so SAD! The end though, is the best part.
