Book Description

0615116736 978-0615116730 August 1, 2000
Never Giving Up On Love is a story of courage, survival and redemption. It is a touching, and at the same time, horrifying saga. Susan, Lisa and Sheila, three innocent little girls abandoned by their mother, abused by their alcoholic father, and tortured by their aunt, uncle and cousins, carry on a tragic and poignant struggle to keep their identity, and even more, their sanity.

The reader is drawn into the terrifying world of child abuse, portrayed with spare, uncompromising descriptions, bleak environments, and images of the vicious and sadistic people who occupy this world, contrasted to the kind and caring ones who are unfortunately few in number in this story, and often seemingly helpless or unwilling to intervene. In her writing, Lisa reveals the horror, anguish and hopelessness of the children’s lives.

The book is an important testament which will bring hope and inspiration to those who have suffered this loss of childhood and destruction of innocence. In the salvation through faith which the girls experienced in their lives, they are living proof that God brought them through the atrocities inflicted on them by uncaring adults.

Never Giving Up On Love also serves as a wake-up call to those who see the marks of abuse on their fellow human beings, but fail to take action, whether through ignorance, fear, or simple apathy. It is a book which will bring healing to many people, because of its ultimate message, as depicted in the title, the power of redemptive love.

About the Author

Lisa is the pen name of the middle sister in this story, who has written this book on behalf of her two sisters and all other tormented and abused children, who feel alone and abandoned by the world. She wants to give them the assurance that there is hope and help for them. Born in San Francisco, California, the girls were taken as infants to another country, where they lived with their mother. They were sent to live with their father in California when they were just three, four and five years of age. They grew up in San Francisco. Lisa currently lives in the East Bay Area, where she is married to a chiropractor, and has two teenage sons, and one four year old son. Lisa credits her survival through her years of abuse to the love of God. She and her family are devout Christians and attend church every Sunday. As Lisa states in her book, "It is a pleasure and an honor to live for the Lord Jesus, for he has nothing but love, goodness, mercy and kindness to offer."

4.0 out of 5 stars Small children coping with a Rough Life, November 13, 2000
This review is from: Never Giving Up On Love (Paperback)
This was a very moving book regarding the senseless abuse of three small girls who are only looking for a place to belong and place to be loved. They needed to belong somewhere but not be abused as they were. My heart goes out to them and gives them credit for being able to come to terms with what happended to them and put in down on paper and still go on with their lives. God bless them from here on out and forever.
