Book Description

November 2, 2004
One of Manhattan's most successful psychotherapists, Brooke Parrish, has finally met the man of her dreams: Taylor Hudson, the handsome up-and-coming investment banker of a prestigious New York firm. Trapped in a loveless marriage, he can't promise Brooke the moon-just yet. But Brooke thinks he's worth waiting for. Taylor's wife, Kiernan Malloy, is suspicious of her husband's infidelities. She knows him too well-and is accustomed to his secrets, both professional and private. Eager to save the dead-end marriage, she seeks the advice of a specialist. Her new therapist's name: Dr. Brooke Parrish. What unfolds between them is an unexpected and dangerous game for three players, where getting even is just the beginning, and passion can run as deep and as dark as revenge.

From Booklist

Kiernan Malloy is an interior designer with an A-list clientele. Her business is beginning to suffer because she spends more than she earns, and she has lied to her husband about her wealth and past. In her desperation, she makes a deal with the devil. When she cannot deliver, her secrets are revealed. Her husband, Taylor Hudson, is a successful investment banker at a prestigious New York firm. When he is offered a partnership, the vote hinges on the successful close of a deal with a London firm. Taylor is also very unhappy in his marriage but has never made any effort to divorce his wife until he meets Brooke Parrish. Brooke is a divorced psychologist with emotional scars from her marriage; she hasn't had any notions about relationships until she meets Taylor. Her moral struggle with his being married is in conflict with her physical attraction. The triangle becomes even more complex when Taylor discovers and alerts Brooke that Kiernan is one of her clients. Although the plot has predictability, it is also entertaining. Lillian Lewis

More About the Author

Tracie Howard
Author/Businesswoman/Style Arbituer/International Lecturer

It's not often that an author who is widely-known for creating diverse, intelligent, sophisticated and charismatic characters, literally could have stepped off the pages of any one of her books. Tracie Howard is just such a person.
As a writer, she has completed six nationally-acclaimed novels which uniquely depict the glamorous side of contemporary urban culture. Her eagerly-awaited follow-up to the best-seller Gold Diggers, is Friends & Fauxs (Random House), a titillating glimpse into the world of celebrity, pop culture, friendship, and betrayal. The book will be in stores on July 28, 2009.

Combining a passion for travel, culture and education with her celebrated work in the fiction world, Ms. Howard recently completed a semester in Senegal, Mali and Burkina Faso as a guest lecturer/professor at the Institut Superieur de Management. Based in Dakar, she was chosen for this prestigious honor as an acknowledgement of her expertise regarding the complex leadership issues which African and African-American decision-makers, law-makers, and parents jointly face.

While there, she touched the lives of over 1,000 African youths on a wide-ranging host of related subject matters and topics, including the global responsibility each one shares towards ensuring the continent's rightful place in a rapidly changing--and increasingly challenging---geo-political landscape.
As a business executive, Ms. Howard honed her skills at some of the world's most prestigious organizations, including the Xerox Company, Johnson and Johnson, American Express and The Olympic Committee. In 2008, she was selected (and served) as a ranking member of President Barack Obama's Finance Committee during his historic election campaign.

Often recognized for her impeccable fashion sense and beauty, Ms. Howard is a regular fixture in both local and national publications. Along with having been recognized as one of today's most stylish women by Ebony Magazine in 2008, she was voted as one of Jezebel Magazine's 50 Most Beautiful. In March 2009, The Atlanta Journal and Constitution featured her as one of their most of the City's most stylish women.

Tracie resides in Atlanta, Georgia. Her past works (which are available at major retailers) include "Gold Diggers", "Why Sleeping Dogs Lie" and "Never Kiss and Tell".

3.0 out of 5 stars Never Kiss and Tell, December 23, 2004
By
This review is from: Never Kiss and Tell (Paperback)
I have to agree with Wildflower's previous assessment. The book started off pretty slow and did not catch real momentum until about the middle. Normally, I would have stopped reading, but based on the merit of Tracie's previous work I continued and I am glad I did. I give this book 3 1/2 stars.
Never Kiss and Tell is the story of Brooke Parrish, a psychotherapist who has eluded relationships with men because of a prior abusive marriage. She throws herself instead into work and shopping. That is until a chance encounter with Taylor Hudson, an up-and-coming investment banker. The only hitch is Taylor is already married. Then there is Taylor's wife Kiernan who has enough skeletons to fill two closets. She has become accustomed to their lifestyle and is not willing to let Taylor go without a fight. So she seeks the advice of psychotherapist Brooke Parrish. And so the fun begins. Should Brooke continue to treat Kiernan after she discovers she is Taylor's wife? Should Brook use her role as therapist to get some much needed information from her? Information that could save her relationship with Taylor. Add to this already boiling pot some accusations of money laundering, an unexpected pregnancy, and some cheating lovers and you have an enjoyable read.

4.0 out of 5 stars You have to stick it out, February 3, 2006
This review is from: Never Kiss and Tell (Paperback)
I did not want the book, but it was sent to me by a book club. When I first started to read the book I was confused. I did not understand who was who or what was what.
Then after the book began to make sense I relized that I could not stop. I shared it with some of my friends and they like it too. You just have to hang on before you can get in to it.

2.0 out of 5 stars Could have been sooo much better..., October 14, 2005
By
This review is from: Never Kiss and Tell (Paperback)
The author had a good story that was poorly executed. The book started off very slow, picked up and got me interested and then feel off. There's lots of drama, and interesting subjects but the ending is too "and they all lived happily ever after" Not one of my favorites; only worth buying if it is on sale.
