4.0 out of 5 stars fast-paced, hip, fun, and what an ending!
"Nevernever" is far superior to "Elsewhere" (which was still pretty good!) in all areas. It's funnier (Wolfboy's tangent-ridden commentary is very real, very engaging), the characters are better drawn, and the plot is even more intriguing. All the mysteries (well, most) set up in the first book are explained. What a twist at the end! Deeply cool...

2.0 out of 5 stars Eh, not so good fantasy
A rather dull sequel, but a reader if you read the previous book. I don't really like the wolf-boy concept, it's so 80s. Nothing much of a book, slow plot, not so exciting misadventures, not really recommended.

Kinda reminds me of NYC, no? Someone help me, here--is "Loses" Los Angeles? Lastly, Orient is in it. 'Nuff said. (Oh, see my review of "Finder"!)

Extremely good book in my opinion. Well written and interesting, I actually read the whole book in one sitting. A must read for anyone who wishes they could just run away from this rotting world into another one thats just cooler. Very good in all.

5.0 out of 5 stars nevernever stop, May 23, 2011

I was very lucky to find this book in my library.

I am a huge fan of The Border Town books. Having read elsewhere as my very first book I read in the series I fell in love with the story. Ron is a very realistic character. Everyone has there problems right. neverNever is the sequel to Elsewhere and boy was I thrown for a loop at the end.

Will weaves this story that you can't put down and his characters are so fantastic. I felt so Bad for Ron at the end, well almost the end. Wanting to just fit in and get even. Your left wanting more. Can that really be left of Ron's story.

The only down side I have is I feel cheated that I have not came across these marvelous books before. I guess the only thing I can do now is actually buy a copy for myself I think the library would love that.

My advice is getting a copy and read all the Bordertown stories they are very intriguing.

5.0 out of 5 stars Will Shetterly is a story-teller., November 21, 2005
This review is from: Nevernever (Hardcover)
The character of Ron is deeply human, deeply sympathetic, and deeply interesting. Will Shetterly tells a story that is a worthy sequel to "Elsewhere." The pacing makes it a page-turner; each of us can recognize ourselves in all of the characters and varieties of characters. "Never Never" is just what a young adult book should be. It engages the sympathies of the reader, illuminates the ambiguity of reality, and widens the reader's horizon.

4.0 out of 5 stars Never never, May 17, 2005
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Never Never (Middle Ages Series) (Mass Market Paperback)
Species should never date out of their own species, or they shall end up like Wolf boy also known as Ron. It takes some time to get use to the wolf like factor but Ron did and so did Sparks well enough to remember condoms when they were alone in her room. It takes some time to see what can really happen but his heart was broken then repaired by another the one whom changed him into his wolf like self and yet she ended up falling in love with the mutt we speak about today as Ron the one also known as Wolf boy. So I must beg for you to read the good books like this one or my heart shall be broken once again. ---Yours forever Jenni---

Found to be a never ending story in which my heart has sunk and swollowed wishing and hoping that it will soon come forth along my ever lasting love to this book and others taking the time to make it last. As i read it wolfboy makes me fall in love with him over and over again makeing me jump around the turns and cry at the deaths and spells in this book.It was only one thing that made my heart jump and yet you must read this book on your own after reading elsewhere.

5.0 out of 5 stars A fantasy world full of fun, maham, and lively characters., October 29, 1997
By A Customer
This review is from: Nevernever (Hardcover)
I found this book to be very interesting and creative. The author used characters that made this book stand out. For instance, "wolfboy", a.k.a. Ron, was a boy turned werewolf who narrates the story. Imagine that. I liked how in parenthesis the author had wolfboy tell the readers that they didn't have to read the stuff in the parenthesis and could skip past it. I never did though because I didn't want to miss anything. The author made the characters come to life by giving them the attitude of real people their age. He chose to use a lot of vulgur language making it a story not likely for all ages but I found it quite interesting and cannot wait to read Elsewhere.
