4.0 out of 5 stars Nevermind the Reunion - Here's Sid Vicious
Pure energy! I would have rated the alblum with five stars but the recording is not as good as it could have been. It's not terrible but it could have been better. I guess the venue (Max's Kansas City) probably didn't have the best acoustics for a live recording. Maybe the recording equipment was poor. Reguardless, this alblum is red hot. I would highly reccommend it...

2.0 out of 5 stars Sid Vicious
The quality is absolutely horrific, but other then that,it was ah,not that good.Sid does have a nice voice but he sings less then half of the majority of these songs, messes up the words, etc.I can't really blame the guy because of this situation he was in at the time, but I'm reviewing the cd,not him.

4.0 out of 5 stars PORTRAIT OF THE IDIOT AS A YOUNG MAN, January 13, 2000
This review is from: Never Mind Reunion: Here's Sid Vicious (Audio CD)
This C.D. is a fabulous collector's item...as for being a listenable piece of work, well...that it's not. Let's face it...Sid was never a singer...Nancy (Satan) convinced him that he was...just like she drove him to the spike habit which killed him. Hell, Sid wasn't even a bassist...he was a haircut and a sneer. If you want good post-Pistols work from an original member of the group (any Pistols fan worth his/her safety pins knows that Sid was not an original Pistol), check out Public Image Ltd...John never got boring. If, however, you are looking for a window into the punk rock scene circa 1979 and how the New York influence destroyed a 23-year-old Bowie fan by the name of John Simon Ritchie (nicknamed Sid Vicous, after John's hamster)...this is the album for you...indispensable and bloody unlistenable.

A great look back at Sid Vicious' post-pistols gigs. Sincethese shows at Max's were some of the only ones he ever played beforeplunging into his rollercoaster, they are worth something for every pistols fan. Aside from Sid not knowing the words once in a while, this CD features a kick ass lineup with members of the Clash, New York Dolls, and London Cowboys along with Sid. A great retrospective of a not-so great bass player.

4.0 out of 5 stars Ignore the German., February 1, 2000
This review is from: Never Mind Reunion: Here's Sid Vicious (Audio CD)
The guy from Bremen obviously snorted a three-foot line of bathroom cleanser before writing his review. Sid an opera singer? An expert in musical theory? A bassist? Give me a break. John jealous of Sid? John talentless? Remind me to never drink the water in Bremen.

...we in Japan hold same ideal of respect for as held in Germany. Shonen Knife, Loudness, Cibo Matto all say in interview that Sid Wicious major infruence. Great Japanese cello player Yo Yo Ma once participate in jam session with young prodigy Wicious before join to Sex Pistols. Yo Yo Ma say afterward he dazzled by Sids comprension of dissonance and tonality, and way he superbly blended 19th Century German Leitmotif theme with Yoruban drum rhythms into complex fusion of music.

5.0 out of 5 stars Ist six stars not possible?, January 24, 2000
This review is from: Never Mind Reunion: Here's Sid Vicious (Audio CD)
Sid Vicious have great following here in Germany. The ignorant American musik fan have one more time again misunderstood perhaps zie finest bassest of all time. Any fan of Sex Pistolss know that it was jealousy by talentless Jonny Rottin that keep Sid Vicious, former opera singer by training and expertt in musikal theory, from leading band and making Sex Pistolls die number 1 band ever. Sid Vicious have great influence on German musicians Kraftwerk, Peter Schilling, Scorpions, Nena, Rob Pilatus, etc.

I rekommend to purchase this CD. Achtung!

This CD is many good, and Many popular in Japan. Nucrear Drivebay write in to say that German reveiewer snort bathroom crenser, but Nucrear Drivebay not understand quarity of Sid's musicianship. Sid indeed one of finest bassist of all time. I remember Sid come to Yokohama to play accoustical jam session with famerse cello player Yo Yo Ma, who is man from Japan. After session Yo Yo Ma say that Sid Vicious has unique grasp of dissonance and tonality, and does remarkable job of incorporating Yoruban drum rhythms with 19th Century German Leitmotif into his music. Sid Vicious great infruence on Japanese musicians Cornelius, Shonen Knife, Loudness, and Cibo Matto.
