I'll be honest. I love Lori Foster, but I really couldn't love Sierra. She was very determined and strong, but sometimes I didn't agree with the way she treated Ben, who was a so great and ever so sweet. I know she was abused and distrustful, but it just went on too long. She shoved Ben away constantly when it was blatantly obvious he didn't want her just for sex. But we...

I know she was abused and distrustful, but it just went on too long. She shoved Ben away constantly when it was blatantly obvious he didn't want her just for sex. But we don't find out about her past until near the end. I HATE when authors do that, because by then you've already formed an opinion about a character, and if you don't like them, possibly already gave up on the book, before finishing and finding out their whole story.

3.0 out of 5 stars OK Read, December 7, 2011

Where I adored the first book in Foster's Temptation series, Too Much Temptation, this one was just OK.

The hero Ben was a likeable secondary character in the first story, but I found parts of his behaviour objectionable in this one. I thought he came across as predatory in certain scenes with the heroine. Nothing extreme, but since she had an abusive ex, it made me wince occasionally. Speaking of which, the villain's actions and motivations for same really didn't play at all.

I also thought TMT was very funny, but that the humor here was a trifle forced. I did appreciate the family warmth and found it the strongest part of the book. The sex scenes were fun and frank - and plentiful.

It's priced right to take the best and leave the rest. But if you haven't already had the pleasure, I suggest you start with Too Much Temptation instead.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful, October 7, 2009

I recently discovered Lori Foster and started getting together all her books to read. So far I have not been disappointed. In "Never Too Muc " Ben Badwin comes across as sort of a playboy, who likes all women. Then he finally meets his match and it all goes down hill or uphill, depending how you look at it, from there. It was a great read. The book was a mix of ecstatic and fun loving chapters. It is a book I will keep in my collection.

5.0 out of 5 stars Never Too Many Laughs, July 21, 2009
This review is from: Never Too Much (Zebra Contemporary Romance) (Paperback)
I love the interaction between Sierra and Ben. They have great chemistry. When a story can make me laugh and think to myself, "Ohhh, she has no idea what she's in for!" it's great. The secondary characters in this book are awesome, too. Foster tackles domestic violence head-on and shows us that scary jerk can continue to be a threat long after a woman works up the nerve to leave him. It was a bonus watching that guy get what he had coming.

5.0 out of 5 stars Worth It!, April 28, 2009
This review is from: Never Too Much (Zebra Contemporary Romance) (Paperback)
This is a great book dealing with Ben who is a character that was introduced in his brothers prior story. Both the main characters sizzle on paper and keep you entranced enough to finish the book in one sitting if you have the time. One great thing about Foster's books is she can sometimes throw more than one couples struggle for love into a book and in this story you get an extra dash of it dealing with Ben's mom. You will most definatley enjoy this book if you purchase it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Just a nice solid romance, January 18, 2009
This review is from: Never Too Much (Zebra Contemporary Romance) (Paperback)
I really liked this reprinted title by Lori Foster. It's just a good solid romance - sexy but not over the top, solid character base, and good supporting characters. Definately worth picking up at the airport. And when Ben says 'Just close your eyes, relax, and leave it all to me" you want to. That said, Sierra isn't a wimp. She's trying to leave a bad ex-husband behind and wants to keep everyone safe while standing on her own two feet.

Love the scene were Ben's Grandmother is insulted. Yeah, Ben!

1.0 out of 5 stars Did Not Finish, April 6, 2010
This review is from: Never Too Much (Zebra Contemporary Romance) (Paperback)
I was looking forward to reading Never Too Much. I ordered it from the library based upon the blurb. I wanted a sexy, fun read. I did not get that and ultimately, did not end up finishing Never Too Much. I stopped at the end of Chapter Four. Never Too Much didn't work for me and these are the reasons why:

Characters:

Ben Baldwin reminded me of a Matthew McConaughey type. Matthew McConaughy annoys the heck out of me every time he appears on the screen. (Okay, I don't know him personally, but I mean the type of roles he plays in movies.) Ben Baldwin is the guy who is sexy and knows it. He believes if he smiles women should bow down and worship him. But Ben is tired of easy and decides to pursue a woman who's more of a challenge. Enter our heroine. Ben decides to stalk, harass her, but because he's the hero of the story and he's cute and charming it okay that he keep pursuing a woman that's not interested in him.

I loved Sierra Murphy in the first chapter. She was strong, independent and tells him straight up that she isn't in the mood for his games. I was like, 'Yes. A strong, woman who can put up with this bull.' I couldn't wait to see the sparks fly between them as she put him in his place. Then I got to Chapter Two. Sierra Murphy turned from a strong, independent woman into an emotional pile of goo. I missed the strong heroine from the first chapter. She doesn't believe in herself, she didn't stand up for herself, and she let Ben control the situation. I felt really let down by the drastic switch in her personality. I mean I honestly. The tone of the first chapter of Never Too Much is totally different from the rest of the novel (at least what I read).

Chemisty:

I felt that Ben and Sierra had no chemistry. It annoyed me how they made assumptions about each other. Those assumptions didn't fit their characters to me. The internal narrative dragged and didn't feel natural. I personally couldn't believe that two strangers would suddenly delve into their deepest darkest secrets within an hour or two of meeting each other. They acted as if they had known each other for months instead of minutes.

I couldn't read anymore. Never Too Much didn't capture my attention enough to make me escape from reality and ignore all the other books I have on my too be read pile. However, I am just one person out of a trillion people in the world and what doesn't work for me, might work for you!
