She sounds a bit like the love child of Marianne Faithfull and Tom Waits, but Cerys is a force to be reckoned with in her own right.
I don't want to admit how much I paid for this cd, as an import. However, I will say that it has proven to be worth every cent!!! Standout tracks: 'Open Roads'-lilting, lyrical genius. 'Blue Light Alarm'-it begins sounding like a lullabye, sung to damaged adults. But when the male choir and electricity kick in, you know you are in the presence of greatness 'What Kind Of Man'-a country song, but howling with fury, nice combination 'Streets Of New York'-a mournful tale, though it never loses sight of beauty-inspired moments. This is an incredibly talented lady. The likes of which are seen once in a decade, if that! |
