5.0 out of 5 stars SIMPLY MAGNIFICENT, November 10, 2005
This review is from: Never Say Never (Paperback)
I truly loved the novel. I enjoyed how he started the novel. It was fast pace you did not want to put it down. In life you go through so many changes and you think that you are all alone, but indeed there is always someone out there experiencing the same situation. The three young ladies indeed had their share of issues, but all in all I like the way they stuck together. I was not happy with ending, but we all cannot have our way. I would definetly recommend this book.

"Never Say Never" was a very good book. Women will be able to relate to these characters or know someone that favors these characters. This book was real and that is why I liked it.

3.0 out of 5 stars (RAW Rating: 3.5) - Sisterfriends & Drama..., June 2, 2006

This review is from: Never Say Never (Paperback)
Life is often a mixture of happiness, pain, and regrets and the women in Dwayne S. Joseph's latest title, NEVER SAY NEVER, find themselves in the midst of major drama. Reesa is nearing the age of 35 -- her cut-off time to have children -- and unfortunately, her boyfriend isn't exactly father material. Carmen has a boyfriend, but he's self-centered, chauvinistic, and has an all-knowing mother who strongly dislikes that Carmen is not black. Erica isn't really looking for love after having her heart broken a couple of years ago, but still wonders where all the decent men are.

These three women, with a supporting cast of friends, family and co-workers must each re-evaluate their lives to find out exactly what they want or if they will be content with what's currently in front of them. Joseph sheds light onto the many issues that evolve in love and relationships, as well as the friendships of sisterfriends. Although each woman experiences her own set of pain and heartache, they remain true to their friendship and are there for each other. The scenes were believable, the characters were realistic, and the drama, though a bit much at times, didn't completely overshadow the story. The ending, while unexpected, wrapped things up, but left me wondering what decision I would've made if placed in any of the character's place.

2.0 out of 5 stars Never Say Never.....it was not a page turner, December 21, 2005

This book could not keep my interest. I think it just had a lot of typical things that women want and go through with some drama. It was okay....just not the intense page turning book I was looking for.

4.0 out of 5 stars Never Say Never : Very good read(4.5 Stars), September 23, 2005
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Never Say Never (Paperback)
"Never Say Never" by Dwayne S. Joseph was a good book full of drama, drama, and more drama. I really enjoyed it. It is the story of Reesa, Carmen and Erica 3 thirty something sistas, who are dealing with issues in their relationships. Reesa wants a baby before she's 35, but her man Simon is a bum, and she has to pay his bills and all of that. Carmen is unsure of her relationship with Anthony, not to mention his mother is a B****, who can't stand her because she's Latina. Carmen falls in love with Jordan and has to pick between them when she unexpectedly gets pregnant. Erica is still hurt over her ex Kenny cheating on her and getting another woman pregnant, when he pops back up in her life after 2 years, she doesn't know how to act. Shay , Mike and Ahmad from "The Womanizer's" also appear in this book. I loved this book, I only wish things turned out differently for Carmen and Jordan. Good job, Mr. Joseph!

3.0 out of 5 stars "Whew! Finished It!", October 24, 2009
This review is from: Never Say Never (Paperback)
I usually enjoy the works of Mr. Joseph, but this one is not so good. All three women got on my nerves, and the plot was painfully slow. Of the three women, Erica worked my nerves the most, Reesa and Carmen did ya need a man THAT bad?

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Book, October 16, 2008
This review is from: Never Say Never (Paperback)
Mr. Joseph has done it again!!
EVERY WOMAN can relate to at least one of the characters in this novel; either you've had your heart broken, you've had someone in your life you just could let go, or you've had a gut feeling that the guy your dating might not be the man for you.
Mr. Joseph has yet again been able capture reality; molding it together into a novel that I couldn't put down.

Keep em' comin!
