Another Artifical Duet,
By Michael Kerner "Michael Kerner" (Brooklyn, New York U.S.A.) - See all my reviews (HALL OF FAME REVIEWER) (VINE VOICE)
This review is from: If I Never See Your Face Again (MP3 Download)
It is just so hard to believe that Maroon 5 has made some deligtful songs that were really good from It Won't Be Soon Before Long, like Makes Me Wonder and the dramatizing Wake Up Call. Sadly, they choose to re-record one of the songs from the album, as a artifical duet with the Umbrella herself, Rihanna on If I Never See Your Face Again. The song is from the expanded edition of this album, as well as her overexposed re-released of last years' A Good Girl Gone Bad which was just released last month. I was not really impressed with the song, because Rihanna doesn't bring in the chemistry with Adam Levine's Rock style. Instead, it feels constantly more like a whimper of waste. I honestly think that if Rihanna and Maroon 5 are going to perform another song together, they really need to be more organic that just something that feels like a piece of imatation American Cheese.
