I'm a huge Melvin Williams fan. If you love good Gospel music, this is the recording for you. Melvin just keeps getting better with his solo releases. This one beats the one before it. The Williams Brothers are my favorite gospel group. I love the way they mix the traditional with the contemporary. They're not your ordinary quartet. When Melvin branches off into his solo recordings, his style and talent follows him. Love the man -- love the music!

5.0 out of 5 stars The Man Can "SANG! ", June 5, 2000
This review is from: Never Seen Your Face (Audio CD)
Forgive the usage error in the title, but that is about the best way that I can describe the melodious and soulful tenor of Melvin Williams. "Never Seen Your Face" is a perfect showcase for this master gospel talent. A seamless blend of contemporary and the traditional gospel genre. The trilogy that begins the set - following a brief "prelude" - sends chills up the listener's spine with its raw spirituality. The songs are "Step Out on Faith," "Til' He Comes Back," and the title cut.

Following an interlude that segues to the more traditional, Williams erupts into an "old school" Sunday-go-to-meeting set with "Pray on My Child," a thoroughly toe-tapping rocking good time, "Tell Heaven," a song designed for the "old sistahs" in the Amen corner," and "Peace in My Heart," featuring the incomparable Shirley Caesar.

Other highlights are "Be Ready," "I Know," and the magnificent "Must Be Love." The collection ends with a special tribute to the artist's late brother Frank in the form of "Special Place. This selection is poignantly delivered, showing the bond that was shared by these two siblings.
