5.0 out of 5 stars Rules of thumb in codified form, August 13, 2007

This is a fun reference book containing several hundred rules-of-thumb in a reasonable, usable format. The rules are separated into twenty topic categories arranged along the margins. You can spend hours flipping back and forth exploring the different categories. I learned a lot from exploring this book. Did you know you can use a paper match as a feeler gauge for setting ignition points in an old car? Did you know that you need to have 100 albums in your record collection to effectively avoid getting bored by repetition? Did you know you should never trust a calm dog because they're the ones most likely to bite you?
