Biography

2000 is (not) the year of NOFX! But don't listen to the hype; listen to the record. Pump Up The Valuum is more clever, more irreverent and more crude than NOFX has ever been: and hot on the heels of the unprecedented The Decline, an amazing 18 minute punk-a-thon, NOFX come slamming back with 14 instant classics (in about 32 minutes).

Pump Up The Valuum combines some of NOFX's most outrageous (and… Read more in Amazon's NOFX Store

5.0 out of 5 stars If You Are Dumb, You Will Not Understand This, August 8, 2006
This review is from: Never Trust a Hippy (Audio CD)
First of all I am a christian, and I love Jesus.

Second of all I can take a joke.

Third, this is one great EP.

You're Wrong has to be the most straightforward politcal song I've ever heard. I mean this band is only bashing christianity because of how most christians (specifically in high places) are corrupt and are waging a war, besides their problem isnt just with christianity, its with all religions, you idiots. If you think that Bush was appointed by God to send you off to die in war, then i think you're just as dumb as all of the other sheep getting their heads blown off in iraq.Do you think any religion says you should kill for it? If anything you should be mad at these nuts, not a band. NOFX are pissed, and who do they attack you ask? not only these pigs in office but also everything they hold sacred. Who cares if Jesus is drinking a beer on the cover and he's declared a hippy that we shouldn't trust. Are we that insecure in our own faith that we cant take a few jokes. I mean this band raises a lot of good points, which are being ignored, from half of the music that we need these days. These are politcal times and this band is one of the few who are saying something about it. I mean remember Vietnam? Remember all of that great music? Remember Remdemption song? Remember Bob Dylan. oh man. Besides if you are one to be easily offended, why did you buy this if you thought the songs werent going to be a little harsh? I MEAN LOOK AT THE COVER!that should've been your first indication right there. Overall every song not only is awesome lyrically, but it has the music to back it up. NOFX question, push buttons, and challenge everything we hold dear, and someone has to do it, because its only through asking questions do we have a better understanding.
leave no topic unturned. question authority. question your beliefs. that is what a TRUE democracy should be.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not the best, but a nice teaser, April 11, 2006
By
This review is from: Never Trust a Hippy (Audio CD)
Although the six songs on here are far from NOFX's best work, they are still a nice teaser for what is to come in Wolves in Wolves Clothing, which will probably turn out to be a mediocre album if the songs are on par with these.

The songs are not amazing, but they don't suck either. I'd only pick up this EP if you're already a NOFX fan. If not, get some of their older stuff first and then buy their full length album when it comes out if you're still interested.

This is not NOFX at their best, but I must say even NOFX at their worst is pretty damn good.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best EP Ever made, April 9, 2006
This review is from: Never Trust a Hippy (Audio CD)
First of all about Brendan Schultz's review it is an ep it is supposed to be short. This is a great cd the best songs would be Seeing Double At The Triple Rock, Im Going To Hell For This One, and Golden Boys. Some advice would be not to order this on amazon but get it for $6 and only $2 shipping and handling at Fatwreck.com or Nofx.org and save yourself a lot of money.
