Editorial Reviews

2009 nine disc (four CDs + five DVDs) set. In October 2008, Coheed & Cambria performed the entire saga of their four interweaving concept albums (Second Stage Turbine Blade - In Keeping Secrets of Silent Earth:3 - Good Apollo, I'm Burning Star IV: Vol 1 - No World For Tomorrow) live in sequential order over four nights in New York City . These performances included many songs they had never played live before, with each night being a unique visual presentation corresponding with the specific album. All four New York shows were shot and recorded for this special release fan pack. This box contains all four complete shows on separate DVDs plus an 80 minute documentary on DVD and all four shows on separate CDs.

This box set is fantastic. Coheed and Cambria really outdid themselves and put together something really special for their fans. Being one of those lucky fans, I was at all 4 nights in NYC and so having this box-set was a must-have for me. It did not disappoint!

The box set is very large and looks almost like a board game. The dragonfly is actually bigger than I expected, and the detailing is very cool.
The book has a collage of pictures of the band, tickets, old concert fliers and photos (I must digress....it was awesome to see the old Juliana Theory tour flier from when they played in Old Bridge...and the 2004 tour sticker with the bloody dragonfly...great shows!)

There's a section in the back for the "Children of the Fence" where, if you ordered during a certain period of time, your name would be in the book. If you did this, finding yourself among all the names is a great feeling! One among the fence!

Each of the 4 nights in Terminal 5 are on their own DVDs, as well as on CD. The DVDs are extremely well put-together. The sound quality is great, the way it is filmed reminds me of a movie or music video-awesome quality. There is also an 80 minute documentary that even for someone like me who has followed the band for 8 or so years, I learned new things about the band I never knew before!

There are also special scenes with all of the web casts they had done talking about toughest album to play, most fun album to play, etc. They were played online during Neverender on the band's website/myspace.

I can't believe how great this item is, anyone tossing up whether to purchase this or not.. i say you DEFINATELY should! It is beautifully packaged and such an awesome pack, all the songs live, all the footage of the concerts and you even get a beautiful dragonfly keepstake. Well worth the money and a much needed piece for all Coheed fans!

I've been a big fan of Coheed and Cambria for a number of years now. If you are a fan of progressive rock music and/or science fiction I would highly recommend that you give them a try. If you don't already have any of their albums, I would suggest starting with one of their studio albums (Good Apollo, Year of the Black Rainbow, No World For Tomorrow, and The Afterman are some of my personal favorites).

The Neverender concert series originally took place in 2008 in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago and London. The event consisted of the band playing their first four album (one per night): The Second Stage Turbine Blade, In Keeping Secrets Of Silent Earth: 3, Good Apollo, I'm Burning Star IV, Volume One: From Fear Through the Eyes of Madness, Good Apollo, I'm Burning Star IV, Volume Two: No World for Tomorrow.

If I had to summarize the Neverender: Children of the Fence Edition in one word it would be "phenomenal.

Neverender is the type of boxset I like to see: daring, yet completest for the fans. In that aim, it succeeds beyond what most box sets aim to do.

The Neverender concept is simple: after recording the "Amory War" section of their planned five-album saga, they decided to do a live concert presented in the way that their fans started to love the band: in the exact order of the CD track listing. In my mind, that Coheed does every song of every album is a tribute to their vision... but is mostly a tribute to the music itself.

The concerts have the band in tight and fine form; it shows the band in a single venue without overdubs or studio-mastering (beyond mixing levels for consumer release). While Coheed recorded all four Neverender gigs, this box set has only the first night of the concerts; because of that, you get the band at its freshest. They're raw, powerful, and exciting.

As you know, the concerts are in two different packages: this box set, or a DVD box which costs around $75 cheaper (with Amazon's discount, else it'd be much more expensive). There are only 15,000 copies of the set, and it's expensive. So, is it worth the sticker shock?

The reason why you'd pick this set is because the concerts are presented in CD form and also comes with an extra documentary. I bought it since I wanted this in CD since some nights did run longer than 80 minutes (and some content needed to be cut down for CD form). The documentary is really good; it has the band, friends, family, and label talking about the band's chronology, from high school to stardom. Also in the set is a metal dragonfly (the band's symbol) and a photobook.

The reason why you wouldn't pick up the set is that it's incredibly expensive.

If you got an autographed version...
I just got mine. The autograph is not on the box set, it's on a little white piece of paper that says certificate of authenticity. Therefore you will not see the autograph unless you open it....lame.

2 disc version
No, they fit all 4 concerts on 2 DVDs. You can tell for one the track listing here for the Standard edition, and the hot topic picture of the 2 DVD cover has the sticker that says "- All 4 nights Live on 2 DVDs" when zoomed in.
