I too have been an avid fantasy reader since childhood, and loved how this whole movie related to reading. I always felt like I was that little boy (althought I'm female.) However, I didn't find the second movie nearly as enchanting because it was more of a generic children's fantasy....and all the characters were different. It's alright for little kids though.

The movie plays like the screenwriters were making up the story as they went along. The special effects were very cheesy.

For those of you, who crave mystery and fantasy, you have to see it! No matter how generic the effects are the video as a whole is fantastic and compelling! Indulge your inner child!

The first Never-ending story was wonderful! It took you out of the living room into the fictious world it was set in. i loved falcor!!! i want a luck dragon for my very own. The second one was good but not quite as good as the first one. The characters were all too different. But it was good that sebastian had to conquer his fear in order to get out of the magical world. All in all these two movies are worth having. They are So creative!!!!

Being an avid reader since I was a child, I related to the stories closely. The Never Ending Story is a fantastic story, taking us to the realms of imagination and wonder. Demonstrating the wonder found within a good book. With the 'nothing' threatening to take it all away. When people don't read. Part II stays with the same wonderful use of your own imagination. I have seen both movies dozens of times. They are my most favourite movies. Don't ever buy number 3 it is aweful. They totally messed up with the whole thing, nothing close to 1 & 2. Enjoy make sure your kids see them.

I am 57 years old and have seen this movie about 10 times. My niece is 12 and has seen it probably 100 times. The movie has such a captivating flow that persons of any age can watch and be entertained without the fear of bad language, sex scenes, and modern violence popping up to give you an unpleasant surprise.

Noah Hathaway was so good in this movie and i might just add I LOVE 48! he rocks my WORLD!

The Never Ending Story is a masterpiece. It's a movie for children and adults alike. It provokes thought and creative imagination. There's not many movies out there you can say that about today that are suitable for all viewers anyway. How many times can you flip on the television and see a giant turtle named Morla talk and sneeze somebody off a tree? Not that often. I am 19 years old and can recite every dang line of this movie. It's definitely a movie worth seeing. And I just wanted to Comment to the individual who said the graphics were cheesy. Well, for a movies that came out in the early 80'S it's not that bad. Thank you very much.
