5.0 out of 5 stars A melodic rock treasure November 4, 2003
Format:Audio CD
American melodic rock band released their self-titled debut in 1991, just as the arena rock era was coming to a close. It's a shame this band never caught on, because their brand of AOR/melodic rock should have gone over quite well even as late as 1991. For some reason Neverland couldn't quite break through.

Neverland, despite their appearance, was not a hair metal band, but a melodic rock band similar to bands like Giant, Bad English, and Tyketto. Their debut album is a near-flawless collection of upbeat rockers and memorable ballads, all written by the band members. The lyrics are your basic love song material, but they seem to be a bit more personal and emotional than what most other bands from this era produced.

Neverland's debut is an excellent album from start to finish, with great melodies, better than average lyrics, superb musicianship, and captivating vocals. Highlights include "Running On," "Mama Said" and "Drinking Again" (which was featured on the Bill and Teds Bogus Journey soundtrack), but I absolutely love the whole album. Neverland is a must-have for any AOR/melodic rock fan, and should appeal to anyone who enjoys upbeat rock music.

5.0 out of 5 stars Album Stashed Way Back In My Collection August 11, 2006
Format:Audio CD
I have to say of all the hard rock/glam albums I own this one still holds up like it was made yesterday. I was listening to it last night and was glad I owned this album. All of the songs are great melodic, catchy tunes and I think the songs could stand up today against anything out there. A very ahead of its time album. Do yourself a favor and find this gem, used or in a pawn shop it doesn't matter you will be greatly satisfied with Neverland "Neverland".

5.0 out of 5 stars A Must if Stranded on a Remote Island!!! July 23, 2003
Format:Audio CD
This band first got my attention with their song "Drinking Again" that was featured on the soundtrack to "Bill & Ted's Bogus Journey." After hearing that ONE song, I bought their debute, self-titled CD. Let me just tell you; I have a rather extensive CD collection of many artists and many differing styles of music, and this Neverland CD is one of my absolute favorites! It is very sad to me that this talented group of performers never climbed the ladder of success. I remain today, a true Neverland fan!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Neverland ruled May 27, 2003
Format:Audio CD
Every track on this CD is a masterpiece its a wonder how they disappeared into the background after only releasing this, their debut album.
The songs are AOR/hard rock but not typical of the late 80s stylings,as they feel totally timeless and individual with some of the best musicians i've ever heard. This rules and is getting rarer every day so get it now!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great CD from a tragically short-lived band... October 14, 2011
Format:Audio CD
Great CD from a tragically short-lived band - yet another casualty (among the many) of the grunge/alternative revolution. It is truly terrible to have a band of such talent fall through the cracks of success. In a style very much all their own, Neverland gives songs ranging from rocking and catchy to soulful and melodic. Every song on this gem of a CD is a great tune.

Since I got mine new in '91, I have listened to the entire CD at least a few times each year, every year. If you are a fan of rock/glam/AOR music from the late '80s to early '90s, get yourself ahold of a copy of this ASAP. You will not be disappointed.
