An excellent family series in beautiful Australian settings with stories reflecting wholesome values to which children easily can relate. Set in the early 1900s four children develop their friendship and cooperative ways of working together as they solve a mystery and Bella regains her memory all with the help of Black Beauty.
Actors playing the children are Rebecca Gooden -Bella, Caroline Winnall -Connie, Peter Evangelista -Ted and Michael Burkett - Frank.

This series was ok. Not nearly as good as the other ones. The people were always doubting each other and they could have done better. But back in those days, adults didn't even hardly make an effort to believe children. They always thought that just because they could have big thinking thoughts that they were making up stories. But that's usually for the young kids. I would think that because Bella was a teenager, the grownups would have made a better effort to believe her ship story. Though it was great that the other kids were trying to help her find out if it was real. Since Bella did lose her memory, but it all came back to her pretty fast. But the newspaper boy could have been a little more understanding and not print out a lot of stuff. That's what got him in trouble a lot. It took a lot for him and Bella to become friends. It was a shame that Bella's story had to start out with her being an orphan, in that terrible orphanage. Those places are horrible. And so was that headmistress. I wouldn't want to live there either. Especially since she didn't allow Bella to keep her belongings until she went to the farm. But Black Beauty was her closest friend of all, when all the humans were doubting her and didn't treat Bella like crap. |
