This is an official release of two episodes from the -second- time Kimba was brought to the TV screen. Some say this is the last project that Kimba's creator, Osamu Tezuka, worked on. It is different, a re-working of the old story, and takes some getting used to for us old fans. In some ways the presentation is disappointing; it feels like the series was altered for a modern Saturday Morning TV audience. The new story arc is interesting, tho, and I consider the series very much worth seeing. I'll be buying every tape they release.

The first tape in this series ("Successor of Legend") is a must, since it sets up the story line. This episodes on this tape are very interesting and show the little white lion at near his best.

Tezuka osamu originally came with this series in the 60's and Pioneer animation came up with a modern version of it. Kimba looks more like the symphonic poem in feel. Kimba pledges to save all of the forest from fighting and things llke that. The couple of villans who get in kimba's way are shaka the panther and Jamar the lion. In this video kimba saves the animals in the forest from a drought and From a angry farmer with a cow. CHECK IT OUT

this series is really great if you give it a chance. the dub is not bad at all. the episodes are great in their own way. and this is also the only english version out there of the series so i wouldnt let this chance pass if i were you

People who saw the 1960's version of Kimba The White Lion dislike this "New Adventures of Kimba" because its not the same as the 60s version, When the "New Adventures of Kimba" was being made, Tezuka was part of the making of this series but died after the first 6 episodes were made, what the fans of the 60s version dont realize about the "New Adventures of Kimba" is that it was originally intentioned to follow the manga's story, in which the manga was out BEFORE the 60's series, even so the story in this version of Kimba is still diffrent from the manga, its a lot closer to the manga than the 60s version of Kimba.

Ok, there are so many views on Kimba, I have to put mine in. My God people! You keep harping on the fact that it's not the original Kimba. We get it all ready! To start off my review, The New Adventures of Kimba the White Lion is a wonderful series. The English Dub is not aweful, and neither is the animation! Yes, the story is different, and yes, Pioneer Entertainment toned it down a bit. But the fact is, all stories change! Pioneer Entertainment toned down the story to make it sutible for younger audiences, and, in my opinion, it worked. I started hunting for the New Kimba VHS's when I was 3! And, ever since I've watched it, I've been hooked for life! If you don't like it, don't watch it! But stop ruining it for those of us who do! Secondly, When Kimba was recreated, it changed, but that does not mean it was ruined. It's all in the eye of the beholder. To those who are long upstanding fans of the original Kimba series, it may seem totaly destroyed. To those who are just starting out as a new generation of Kimba fans, or if your love the old and the new, it may seem totaly awesome! Oh, and, when Kimba became "The New adventures of Kimba the white lion, it was not wrecked. You want to see and Anime that was destroyed in English dub? Watch Mew Mew Power on 4kids. Now, in closing, I thouroghly enjoy The New Adventures of Kimba, and highly recomend it.
