The best screen Tarzan., January 27, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: New Adventures of Tarzan [VHS] (VHS Tape)
Without doubt, Herman Brix was (and still is) the best screen Tarzan. An accomplished actor who would later change his name to Bruce Bennett and be featured in such fine films as "Sahara," "Mildred Pierce" and "The Treasure of Sierra Madre," Brix was also an Olympic silver medal winner, and closer in physique type to Burroughs' ideal than most of those who portrayed Tarzan. In this film Tarzan is an erudite tuxedo-wearing chap with a feral look in his eyes. You truly believe that here's a fellow that can best a lion, or outrun a gazelle. Ignore the silly story and concentrate on Mr. Brix, and I'm sure that you too will realize (with apologizies to Wm. Shakespeare), "here was a Tarzan, when comes such another!" END
