5.0 out of 5 stars Wish I'd Found This One First!!!, February 9, 1999
By A Customer
As a college teacher, I found this book extremely intelligent, well-researched and beautifully written. But most of all, it was a sheer pleasure to read. I bought three other name books, but this one was definitely the most fun. Don't let the "new age" title confuse you. The author defines the new age as a much-hoped-for time when prejudice and fear will at last melt away and we'll all live together in peace and harmony. A beautiful thought, a beautiful book. Highly recommended!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars WHAT FUN!!!, March 11, 1999
By A Customer
Lots of great names from all over the world. This book has a real "internet" feel about it. It has all the timeless classics like Sarah, Emily, Joshua and Austin. Plus tons of appealing new names I hadn't thought of. I found the no-angst chapter on the psychology of naming my baby especially reassuring, and the section on the best ways to create a name was a blast!!

5.0 out of 5 stars REALLY PRETTY, A GREAT GIFT, July 30, 1999
By A Customer
A really pretty baby name book. I'm talking here about the yellow book with the Mary Engelbreit cover; I see this book has a number of versions. But the one I bought was just gorgeous. It's full of great names and has lots of lovely boxes packed with intriguing trivia. Apparently, when this book was first published in the 70s, it was the only baby name book to contain unusual names in addition to Mary and John. My mother still has one of the original copies (she named me with it!),but in my opinion this latest edition is even better. A timeless classic.
