I don't understand the bad reviews..., September 28, 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: New Age Hypnosis (Paperback)
Maybe this exercise book doesn't compare to his other books (which I haven't read), but it contains so much simple and valuable information.
I don't know if past life regression or future life progression works, but the superconscious mind tap alone is more than worth the price of admission.
I started practicing the advice in this book around the time I started seeing a psychologist to deal with a traumatic experience in my life. It was a personal experience, and the psychologist just couldn't understand what I went through... It was the kind of personalized trauma that I really can't share with anyone else, not even a friend, let alone a professional.
The psychologist worked in tandem with a psychiatrist that practically tried to force me into taking medication that made me feel sick. (He also made ridiculous claims about how meditation, diet, and exercise wouldn't help my problems--that medication was the only cure.)
I refused taking the medication after trying it for a week.
With the advice in the book, I haven't been able to forget about the bad experiences in my life, but I have been able to foster some emotional detachment towards them. It helped. "New Age Hypnosis" also explained the basics of meditation and hypnosis better than any other book I skimmed through at the bookstore.
Granted, there are some far fetched ideas contained within the pages of this manual, but not every piece of advice given is so "out there".
In short, if you read this book expecting to see the future within a day of practice, you'll probably be disappointed. If you take what you can find useful, and diligently apply it for a month or two, you'll probably find the self mastery attained easily worth the $13 price of admission.

Read the title, February 21, 2002
This review is from: New Age Hypnosis (Paperback)
Well, I thought the script was repeated WAY too many times. The rest of the book, however, was not that bad. I think maybe people should notice the "NEW AGE" in the title before they buy it and assume that it's a mainstream self-hypnosis book.
This book is exactly what it says it is. If you are not "New Age" or into reincarnation, astral projection, etc. don't buy this.
There are better books on the above topics available, but few that focus on hypnotic scripts that can be used and other aspects of hypnotism as it relates to said topics.
Not my favorite book of all time, but I certainly don't regret buying it.

New Age Hypnosis, April 18, 2004

Most hypnosis books don't focus on "New Age" concepts. Bruce
shares his scripts and techniques in this book. I found it enjoyable and have picked it up more than once to reread the
scripts. Compared to other hypnosis books with scripts, it's reasonably priced too. If you are interested in Past Lives, and other New Age concepts, this is an inexpensive book to add
to your collection.
