I don't understand the bad reviews...,
By A Customer
This review is from: New Age Hypnosis (Paperback)
Maybe this exercise book doesn't compare to his other books (which I haven't read), but it contains so much simple and valuable information. I don't know if past life regression or future life progression works, but the superconscious mind tap alone is more than worth the price of admission. I started practicing the advice in this book around the time I started seeing a psychologist to deal with a traumatic experience in my life. It was a personal experience, and the psychologist just couldn't understand what I went through... It was the kind of personalized trauma that I really can't share with anyone else, not even a friend, let alone a professional. The psychologist worked in tandem with a psychiatrist that practically tried to force me into taking medication that made me feel sick. (He also made ridiculous claims about how meditation, diet, and exercise wouldn't help my problems--that medication was the only cure.) I refused taking the medication after trying it for a week. With the advice in the book, I haven't been able to forget about the bad experiences in my life, but I have been able to foster some emotional detachment towards them. It helped. "New Age Hypnosis" also explained the basics of meditation and hypnosis better than any other book I skimmed through at the bookstore. Granted, there are some far fetched ideas contained within the pages of this manual, but not every piece of advice given is so "out there". In short, if you read this book expecting to see the future within a day of practice, you'll probably be disappointed. If you take what you can find useful, and diligently apply it for a month or two, you'll probably find the self mastery attained easily worth the $13 price of admission.

Read the title,

Well, I thought the script was repeated WAY too many times. The rest of the book, however, was not that bad. I think maybe people should notice the "NEW AGE" in the title before they buy it and assume that it's a mainstream self-hypnosis book. This book is exactly what it says it is. If you are not "New Age" or into reincarnation, astral projection, etc. don't buy this. There are better books on the above topics available, but few that focus on hypnotic scripts that can be used and other aspects of hypnotism as it relates to said topics. Not my favorite book of all time, but I certainly don't regret buying it.

New Age Hypnosis,
By A Customer
This review is from: New Age Hypnosis (Paperback)
Most hypnosis books don't focus on "New Age" concepts. Bruceshares his scripts and techniques in this book. I found it enjoyable and have picked it up more than once to reread the scripts. Compared to other hypnosis books with scripts, it's reasonably priced too. If you are interested in Past Lives, and other New Age concepts, this is an inexpensive book to add to your collection.

Having spent 8 months getting my hypnotherapy license, I have to say that Bruce Goldberg's new book, New Age Hypnosis is excellent. I'm adding it to my stack of scripts, which is all you really need once you understand what hypnotherapy is all about. There are lots of scripts for sale that can go for lots of money. Finding so many that I want to use for the price a of paperback is truly a gift.
This book not only has scripts for doing the hypnosis, but anecdotal stories of how hypnosis has helped others, giving the reader insight into what hypnosis is all about. I've read through the negative comments about this book, and one has to realize that if you don't know anything about hypnotherapy, it's hard to just pick up a book and start doing it. It would be like picking up a book on baseball and then to start playing it. It's about practice, practice, practice. And of course understanding how the mind works, and why saying things a certain way will allow the ego to take a back seat, giving you access to the subconscious, and the higher mind if you're really good at it. I've been doing past-life regressions, along with weight-control, and it really does work. I find it amazing how easy it is for people to access their past lives, and I'm thrilled to find a book that gives me for tools for new age work in things like finding your guardian angel, and leaving your physical body. Dr. Bruce Goldberg is renown in the world of hypnosis. He has c.d.'s out where you can just listen, saving yourself lots of money going to a professional.

Hypnosis is simple, natural, and effective. Unfortunately, many people who pick up this book may find the simplistic nature of the hypnotic theory and induction techniques off-putting, but as a certified hypnotist in training and a practitioner of the scripts included here-in, I could advise anyone reading this review to buy this book with complete confidence that it indeed WORKS. This book adequately describes how to perform extremely powerful inductions on your clients *including eye-fixation, hand-clasp, and progressive relaxation inductions* and also goes a step further by describing the mechanisms behind effective inductions *described as the Hypnotic Laws.* I have noticed however that the hypnotic scripts are written direct-authoritatively which may render them ineffective for emotional suggestible types, but I've found it quite simple to revise the scripts to fit any personality type. For more information on suggestibility types and robust hypnotic theories of the mind I'd recommend "Professional Hypnotism Manual" by John Kappas. However, a deep understanding of hypnosis is NOT required to reap it's benefits on a personal level. This book has more than enough information to successfully master self-hypnosis *which requires no changes to the script whatsoever*. For people out there who haven't been getting tangible results using the self-hypnosis techniques of this book, keep in mind that it takes some time to get used to self-inducing a deep trance state. Hallucination's of angels or higher-dimensional beings, or any positive or negative hallucination for that matter, requires the subject to be in the deepest levels of trance. Good news is, this book is loaded with deepening techniques to help get you into the most powerful hypnotic states. You'll find yourself falling into hypnosis progressively deeper and faster the more often you practice putting yourself under, so practice often. For the skeptics, hypnosis is a matter of fact. Regardless of the fringe nature of the hypnotic scripts included in this book. your sub-conscious mind is capable of creating these mystical experiences with incredible ease.

My dad is extremely hard to hypnotize, but by tweaking a few of the pieces in this book, I got him into a basic hypnotic state. I will have to keep trying, but he was far deeper than his hypnotherapist has gotten him! XD!!!

Audio tapes and Book scripts the same,
This review is from: New Age Hypnosis (Paperback)
Having listened to a couple of his audio tapes - which have since been passed along to another - it was a pleasant surprise to discover those same scripts in his book. Why purchase those CDs, when I can create my own audio file in my own voice from the scripts in this book?

This review is from: New Age Hypnosis (Paperback)
This book is really fantastic. The author tells you what to do to help yourself recover from any discomfort through self-hypnosis. It is efficient as it explains everything in simple words. the book also has chapter that are well balanced and arranged. I think that the aim is to be holistic, which explains the title. Professionally done. I believe people can help themselves at a fraction of the cost of seeing a professional. The subconscious mind will do it all for you. Just follow the advices in the book.

This book answers a lot of questions newly interested people might have and it gives a few tips for those of us interested in life 'progression' and soul contact. There is ample instruction for making your own tapes with his scripts as beginning points.
From a hypnotherapy instructor's viewpoint I really like it for new people. In fact, it's now required reading for my course. |
