The New Agreements in the Workplace resulted from the personal experience of author David Dibble and his own transformation from that of selfish indulgence to self-fulfillment. As a wealthy CEO, his personal life literally crashed and his following journey toward self-discovery prompted him to write this book. Dibble clearly understands that the modern workplace is riddled with ineffectiveness and complacency generated by fear. Many other authors and consultants have proposed a new agreement, or alternative culture in the modern workplace including Robert Greenleaf, Peter Drucker, Peter Block and many others. This book proposes a dramatic change in the workplace influenced by the author's own journey, and personal interest in systems theory and Toltec spirituality. He believes the book will help one discover a "revolutionary idea that is desperately needed in the modern business world: love." The influence of Toltec was most prominently introduced to the public by DON Miguel Ruiz, author of two best selling books. He also writes an introduction in this work.

The New Agreements in the Workplace is a short publication that you can read in one or two sittings. All eight chapters are well organized as Dibble outlines 5 proposed New Agreements in the Workplace and quickly weaves them together. Many of the ideas in this book are similar to servant-leadership principles but with more of a definite spiritual edge. The only major weakness in the book is that not enough detail is given to define and explore the new agreements in a culture that is presently contrary to its ideals! It is easy to make an enlightened statement and express new found knowledge, but how to implement that knowledge to produce change in the real world is the hard part.

If you are not into spirituality or resist rather vague concepts, The New Agreements in the Workplace may not appeal to you. But, if you are looking for a book that offers a sensitive and alternative approach to problem-solving in the workplace, it may be a profound journey.

I ordered this book and was told the book was shipped June 11th. To date I have never received either the book or a response from Amazon or Jorgitas Books (the distributer) even though I have followed up several times. Service from both companies is dispicable and is another reason more of us are turning to other book sources unless they fall into more common titles. I gave up trying now to ever get the book or recover my money.

Recently we began working with The New Agreements and we have seen profound changes in sales in addition to a re-energizing of our overall approach to work. After reading the book and attending a workshop (and our new VP Sales also attended a workshop with David Dibble) we made some dramatic changes in our sales and marketing systems. We began to "love, grow and serve" our customers with much more awareness. Well, since the workshops, we've done as much business in the last 45 days as we have all year. And with a lot of fun and great attention to our customers. For anyone interested in revitalizing their business, their employees, or their relationships with clients, I highly recommend this book.

If you have been looking for a practical way to introduce the priciples of The Four Agreements into your workplace, this is the book for you. David has captured the essence of what today's workers and managers are searching for. A wonderful approach to making the place where many people spend the majority of their hours into a great place to be.

A pearl of a book! Our organization has taken the foundations of The New Agreements in the Workplace and transformed from fear and control to love and support. By going through this we have transformed our business, but more importantly we have impacted the lives of our employees and those individuals in which we work with. This is by far the most powerful tool available to businesses today. The five new agreements are grounded in true business principals and provide a guidepost for leaders and organizations seeking authenticity, alignment and discipline. Regardless of the current economic conditions, when an organization removes fear and focuses on loving, growing and serving its people, the overall conditions of the organization will improve. In our company we have seen increases in all key performance indicators such as employee satisfaction, client satisfaction, revenues and profitability.

This is a timely and needed book on how one can transform their business or organization. After reading the Four Agreements I was looking for a way to implement them into my business. I was fortunate to find and read this book, The New Agreements. It goes beyond the Four Agreements and truly speaks to the business mind. And I've found that these simple but powerful five concepts work. Now I can practice the Four Agreements and the New Agreements at the same time. I highly recomend this book to any CEO, manager, business owner or worker. This book can change the way we do business in America. Thank You.

I highly recommend The New Agreements in the Workplace as one of the most important business books I have read. It lays out a path for organizational change and transformation that we as CEO's, Coaches, and Consultants have been waiting for. As President of an executive search and staffing agency, my partner and I have applied the 5 principles laid out in The New Agreements over the past year. With volatility in the economy, we faced some really challenging times. We served our people, we supported their development, and we made changes to our systems. We did our best to move from fear and control to love and support. When we look at our performance indicators, here's what we see: more business, greater employee satisfaction, rising revenues, and greater profits. And, our Team enjoys the work they do. We are actually able to utilze this book as a poignant message for our organization's vision and purpose and as a guide for accelerating our growth. And, as we give the book to our clients, they have a really good idea of how we do business!
