Another Good Story,
By
This review is from: New America (Paperback)
Another good story by the Kelleys. Perhaps not the very best in the series, but I still liked it very much. Characters are real, and interesting. The added historical events are always a bonus. The places are mostly real. The story is not suspenseful until over half way through. The suspense is not sustainned through the book. But this is not a thriller suspense book as much as it is a people/character book. The book production quality is a little low. This (and some of the other books in the series) could have used a good editior/proofreader. There are a couple of sentences that have an extra word (so not a sentence), there are a couple of double quotes placed incorrectly, there is the misspelling of the word "stent" (they spelled it "stint"). A character on a boat is said to have had a good view forward and port. The way it was written seemed odd, as if they really meant forward and aft. Also, it seemed odd that the character Jill would occational feel the ship (a large ship, but not huge) roll a little, particularly when there wasn't any mention of significant weather. (Now I can't remember..... Did this happen once while the ship as docked and in good weather?) Overall, good book. (Kelleys: If you need another editor/proofreader, let me know! No cost.) Cheers, Bob Gray
