This collection of short stories of the Great Detective, Sherlock Holmes is one that will be appreciated by discerning fans. Based on the original works of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, and though originally sold with a slipcase (albeit at a much higher price), this complete set loses nothing in the new version.

When we like a story, we got transported to it. It is the case for the Mr. Doyle writings. This volume brings more light and amusement on the experience as it brings the cultural context of the story. It is like a map for a world where we never knew.

This is a wounderful annotated version of Sherlock Holmes, its illustrations are magnificent and the notes are extermely helpful to the ambitious reader, but when by this book you must to remember that this is a annotated version of the canon, and it is a beautiful book because of this, so its pages are fully pictured not just to illustrate the referred text but also fot the sake of the reader and in order to let we take in account the marvellous work that fill the pages of the magazines and books that tell the history of the most famous detective ever. This book is not a biography of Arthur Conan Doyle, but a pleasant annotated history of Sherlock Holmes and should be faced in this way. Therefore I trust recommend that Sherlock's beginners start to read a version without the extensively annotated presented in here and then, when your curiosity was raised, buy this unforgettable collection of histories for the sake of yourself.

Superb new annotated edtion of Sherlock Holmes. We have waited 40 years for this edition and it was worth the wait. Everything about the book is magnificently carried out--annotations are excellent and informative, print is very nice, and paper on which it is written is the very best. Every Sherlock Holmes fan should have this edition in his or her collection. Get all three volumes Klinger's annotated works and you will have everything Arthur Conan Doyle ever wrote about Sherlock Holmes and much more. Cannot recommend this set of works highly enough. Deserves many more than five stars.
