Book Description

Agee Skyler thought the biggest problem on his roadtrip were the words he hadn't said to Caitlin Moss, but four cars piled like crumpled pop cans against a rolled semi with no survivors, no witnesses, no skid marks, and no first responders is just the edge of an attack even a Marine wasn't ready for.

Meanwhile, time is running out for Caitlin in a darkened New York City under siege, and threatened from within by refugees growing more desperate as the buildings fall.

Can Agee, Caitlin, and three uncanny strangers find common purpose long enough to save the human race from total destruction?

5.0 out of 5 stars A Matter of Faith July 27, 2012
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
I am an avid reader, mostly of factual history, so this book was something different for me. It takes a good author to catch a reader's attention from the beginning and New Arbor Day certainly does that. It was NOT predictable at all and held my attention completely. As a Christian I appreciated the subject of faith through Jesus that was woven throughout. While the book was realistic, it does not get bogged down with bad language or behavior. I went on vacation before I finished it so I also bought the Kindle edition and finished it on my trip. I usually have two or three books going at once so I don't get bored. When I started New Arbor Day, I didn't bother picking up my other books until I had finished this one. I will DEFINITELY buy the sequel.

4.0 out of 5 stars Definitely Science Fiction! July 18, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Very weird book! The writing is great, it keep me reading even when things were kind of hinky. The premise is creative. Two of the heroes are obviously "altered" (possibly brought back from the dead) but how? It was never explained. The characters are interesting and unique.

If you want to spend an afternoon in an alternate reality, this would be a good choice. From the first page to the last, it is almost non-stop action and adventure.

2.0 out of 5 stars Hard to Believe January 16, 2013

Based on the reviews I read I really wanted to give this a chance....I read to 42% before giving up. I was just not able to buy into this story at all....

I have read zombie books and all types of apocalyptic stories. I just could not buy the plot of this one for some reason.

I mean... (SEMI SPOILER ALERT).....its all due to killer trees???

Nope, just could not buy it and try as I might, I just could not come to care about the characters.

I do give some stars because it was not terrible, I just did not find it interesting.

Format:Kindle Edition
Great story with unexpected twists. Not the "same old" apocalyptic plot but refreshing action and characters. Definitely looking forward to more from this author!
