Awesome broadhead,

I switched from a fixed 100 gr thunderhead to the spitfire MAXX and just shot my first deer with one a few days ago. I use a Barnett Panzer crossbow which chrono'd at 226 fps with my crossbow and 20" Easton Carbon Power crossbolts and 100 gr. field tips. These broadheads fly just like field points and I had a complete pass-through at 25 yards or so on a mature doe. The blood trail was intense and she didn't make it 25 yards before falling over dead. I picked her up within 5 minutes and clear eyesight of the deer stand. I don't plan to use anything else unless I hunt in super thick woods where vines/limbs may cause blades to open prematurely and fly weird. Just my 2 cents.

I was a little skeptical at first glance. I had read the reviews on the expandable broadheads and wondered if they were really that great. It turns out that they are great and this one works well. I shot my first deer with one last weekend. It left a big hole and a complete pass through. The shot was about 35 yards away with an Excalibur crossbow (Exocet). The deer ran about 20 or 30 yards and fell over dead. I had read some reviews where it was reported that the blades came open prematurely. I haven't had one do that with me, although I have only had them a couple of months now and hunted with them twice. I did sacrifice one broadhead for practice purposes only. They truely fly just like my target points do. Some people say you don't even have to sacrifice one and can just screw them on and go hunting. I tend to believe that now. But I had to see for myself. Overall I would give these broadheads the highest ratings. (From Tennessee)

Great broadhead. POI same as field tip. I switched over from fixed head for bigger wound channel. Harvested my 2ed black bear. 20 yard shot- 60 lb athens- clean pass through with the bear down in 20 yards and great blood trail.
