This review is from: New Archery Products Thunderhead 60-150 Broadheads (Sports)
This is my first time using these types of broadheads, I usually stick to the mechanical ones. I must say, they do perform. I arrowed my first wild hog at 20 yards 2 weekends ago, and the arrow went right through. The hog layed down no more than 30 yards from the shot. The broadhead held up fine after the shot. I had to re-sharpen the tip, but the blades are still sharp. I took a practice shot with one of the arrows at my target, and it found the bulls eye from 30 yards. At about $5 each, I don't feel the same pain I used to when recovering an arrow (usually damaged mechanical blades .. have fun replacing those) or worse, losing the arrow. There's a little assembly that's required, but it only takes about a minute per broadhead once you've got one under your belt. Second Review, a season later: I ordered another pack of these broadheads, after assembly, I installed them on some of my "perfect shafts" and tested them using the shaft spinner(a product that you roll the shaft on to check for straightness) most of the broadheads were off center and made the arrow wobble a bit. The flight path was not severely effected at 20-25 yards, but my expectations were diminished. Dropped them down to 3 stars only because of the great price. Based on my experience, I do recommend this product for any 20-25 yard shot, find something else if you're capable of taking those 30-45 yard shots.

These are my favorite broadheads out of the estimated 25 broadheads that I've been through in search of "the one". The only downside is that you must assemble them but that also can be a positive because you can buy the replacement blades for a very reasonable price and reuse the assembly. Also if you follow the instructions which is very easy they won't ever fail you. The following are the main reasons I like these broadheads so much:
-They come extremely sharp(Sounds like a given but many I've tried hardly felt sharp at all) -Price(You get 6 for about the same price that you'd only get 3 of their competitor's premium broadheads) -Finally they fly almost identical to my practice tips(I haven't been able to say this too often about other broadheads) So in conclusion as long as I'm able to hunt these broadheads will be my 1st choice. I hope I helped!

i used to shoot thunderheads back in the late 80' thru the early 90's. always had very good luck with them. great pass thrus and held up very well except for the occasional bent, nicked or broken blade to replace.then the mechanical broadhead craze hit me. i switched out my trusty thunderheads for spitfires. i shot the spitfires and switched again to another brand, cant remember which. then in 2009, the rage broadheads grabbed me up and i grabbed them up. they flew great because of the compact size and design and they performed very well under nice conditions. then in the january of 2010, i had my rage heads freeze up and didnt open on contact on a nice late season buck. i switched back to my trusty thunderheads at the beginning of bow season 2011. i have had the best season ever!! 5 bowkills with complete pass thrus on each and every one. broke 2 carbon arrows and the broadheads were still fine and undamaged. they flew very well shot out of my bow set at #63 out to 40 yards (thats the max i will shoot at). i really have total confidence in thunderheads knowing that they wont fail on me. i bought them here on amazon and got a $10 rebate form from the NAP website. i ended up paying $22 for 6 after rebate. a great broadhead at an excellent price. i highly recommend the thunderhead broadheads. 5+++ stars
