Pretty Good,
This review is from: New Arrival (Audio CD)
A*Teens, the popular Swedish teen group, may not have the best voices in the world, but they sure have some catchy songs. All of them for the most part have a good beat, an energetic chorus, and cute lyrics.
1. Floorfiller - This is a great song to dance to. The beat is great, and the tune rocks. 10/10 2. Have A Little Faith In Me - This is a pretty good song. It's not their best, but it's a moderatly good listen. 7/10 3. Shame Shame Shame - I don't like this song at all. It seems very scrambled. The chorus is just the band screaming "Shame Shame Shame!" 2//10 4. Let Your Heart Do All the Talking - This is a good song. Cool beat, good lyrics. I like it. 8/10 5. A Perfect Match - This track is incredibly catchy. It's upbeat, fun, has a great tune, and cute lyrics. Great. 10/10 6. The Letter - This song is...interesting. It seems very blues, with a pop twist. The chorus is fun. 7/10 7. Cross My Heart - This song is good. The South American intro is a great addition. 8.5/10 8. In the Blink of an Eye - This track sounds like exactly what a teenager would sing. The song isn't great until the chorus, where it picks up. 7/10 9. School's Out - This song is all around fun. The beat is great. It's one of my favorites. 9/10 10. Closer to Perfection - This song is just ok. It's got a pretty good chorus, but is weak all of the rest of the time. 6.5/10 11. Shangri La - This one is also...interesting. I don't love it, but don't hate it either. 6/10 12. One Night In Bangkok - I like this song. The intro is great. 8/10 13. Can't Help Falling In Love - This is one of the better songs on the album. It's got the nicest tune. 9/10 14. Heartbreak Lullaby - This song sounds really sappy. It's nice, though at the same time. 8/10 Overall, this is a good pop disk. If you're a fan of Britney or Hilary, this CD is for you. Overall Rating: 8.5/10

New Arrival is the Euro/Swedish/Asia Version of USA's Album Pop 'Til You Drop, which was released in the USA last June. Since A*Teens were in the USA promoting and doing concerts for this album, they wanted to hold off releasing it in other parts of the world so they could promote it when it was released there. So since Europe/Sweden/Asia had to wait for about 6 months for this Album, A*Teens wanted to give them something special! So, 6 songs were removed from the original Pop 'Til You Drop tracklisting, and replaced with 6 new songs! Also, two bonus tracks are featured on this album (Heartbreak Lullaby, and Can't Help Falling In Love)1. Floorfiller 2. Have A Little Faith In Me 3. Shame Shame Shame 4. Let Your Heart Do All The Talking 5. Perfect Match 6. Letter 7. Cross My Heart 8. In The Blink Of An Eye 9. School's Out (Feat. Alice Cooper) 10. Closer To Perfection 11. Shangri-La 12. One Night In Bangkok ~*~ Bonus Tracks ~*~ 13. Can't Help Falling In Love 14. Heartbreak Lullaby So is New Arrival worth Importing? HECK YA! I love this CD! Both New Arrival and Pop 'Til You Drop share a special spot in my Stereo, and always will!! Overall I think this CD is GREAT!!! A*Teens are gonna be around for a LONG LONG LONG time! Each new CD, they get better and better! :)

I have already reviewed "Pop 'Til You Drop," so I will skip all of the songs that appear on that album. As for the newer tracks... HAVE A LITTLE FAITH IN ME--10/10--This is my second favorite song! So pretty and catchy! Makes you feel good, too. SHAME SHAME SHAME--8/10--A great song for playing in the car. The chords when it goes into the chord sound sharp & strange, but it's still a funky song. A PERFECT MATCH--10/10--I looove this song's lyrics because they're so unique! Very fun, sweet song. THE LETTER--9/10--One of the better renditions I've heard of this song! I think they sound fantastic! SHANGRI LA--8/10--Extremely pretty chorus. Not what I would consider the best song, though. ONE NIGHT IN BANGKOK--7/10--This song was annoying at first, but it's definitely growing on me. It's great for a taste of something different, and I love it that the boys get so much more attention! HEARTBREAK LULLABY--10/10--My definite favorite. It's just so beautiful and touching! Obviously, I don't have a lot of negative comments about this album! I love most of the Pop 'Til You Drop tracks, so I was mostly interested in hearing the new ones. I was very pleased!! I like hearing Dhani and Amit sing more than usual, and I like the new funky flavor in these songs! A MUST-HAVE FOR ANY POP FAN!!!!!!

I'm a die-hard A*Teens fan, and when this came out, I didn't care about the outrageous price ~ and it's DEFINATELY worth it!1.)Floor Filler ~ This is on Pop Til You Drop, but for some reason it sounds better on New Arrival...which is weird. But it's a really fun dancey song. 5/5

The New Arrival is GREAT!!!!,
This review is from: New Arrival (Audio CD)
This cd is definently better than Pop Til You Drop! This cd contains the best songs off Pop Til You Drop and new songs! There are three new cover songs "The Letter", "One Night In Bangkok" and "Shame Shame Shame" plus the other cover songs "School's Out" and "Can't Help Falling In Love". Those songs are all somewhat similar in having a bubblegum sorta beat! Then, there are "Shangri La", "Have A Little Faith In Me" and "Heartbreak Lullaby" that sound like they had been on Teen Spirit. Those songs are more bubblegum like than any other songs on this album!! Sara stands out most in "Let Your Heart Do All The Talking". I really like how Sara uses her voice in this (I can sound EXACTLY like her!)!! That song is my favorite song by far!!! "The Letter" and "Shame Shame Shame" are really cool songs because they are different, A*Teens haven't done anything like it before!! Marie stands out most in "Cross My Heart" because of her voice and the way she sings her lines!! Amit and Dhani stand out most in "A Perfect Match" (their latest single to date), "One Night In Bangkok" and "School's Out". "Closer To Perfection" and "Floorfiller" have a similar beat. They are both on Pop Til You Drop, but for some weird reason they sound a LOT better on this album than on Pop Til You Drop! Here's a few words to describe each song: Bonus Tracks: This album is definently worth 1000 words and dollars!!! You have to get this!!! Great buy!!! If this isn't your type of music think about it, it's really cool...

A-Teens New Arrival is awsome!,
By Chris Edwards (Philadelphia, Pennsylvania) - See all my reviews

Floorfiller- glad it was the 2nd A-Teens second song. A great dance song! A favorite!Have a little faith in me- A great song to sing along too. I really enjoy this nice happy song! Shame Shame Shame- An awesome cover song they did an excellent job on. Marie sounds very cool in this song! Let your heart do all the talking- A very cool song that I'm glad is on both albums. Very different from what they've done! A Perfect Match- A very nice a pretty song that rock! The guys sound very good in this one. The new video to the song is rockin'! The Letter- another one of there all time classic remakes they've done. A very cool song! Cross my heart- A very nice emotional and beautiful song that Marie co-wrote. Shakira would be proud! In the Blink of an eye- An awesome and pretty song Marie co-wrote. A very nice song about things changing in the blink of an eye! School's Out- A very cool and edgy remake from the A-Teens. They sound so good with Alice Cooper. Closer to Perfection- A very cool song. Should definitely be a single. Very creative! Shangri-La- This song is an ok song Amit co-wrote. The chorus is so old and annoying but the rest of the song is pretty good. One Night in Bangkok- Definitely one of the best songs on the album where the A-Teens unexpectingly rap in the song. Damn this song sounds so good! Bonus Tracks: Should you buy this import cd? Hell yeah. It will defiantly be worth it! The A-Teens are going be around for a very very long time!

This CD shows the best of the A-Teens. The A-Teens are cool already but this really hits the top. I rate this #1 on my list. I wish all radio stations played there songs.

What "Pop Til You Drop" Should Have Been,
By Tom "Tom" (Oregon, USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: New Arrival (Audio CD)
If you haven't bought the A-Teens' U.S. album "Pop Til You Drop" yet, skip that one and buy this import CD. It's a bit more expensive, yes, but worth it.This disc contains all the best tracks from "Pop Til You Drop" -- the addictive tropical-flavored "Cross My Heart", the dance-floor anthem "Floorfiller", the slice of Euro-pop heaven "Closer To Perfection", and the bouncy "Let Your Heart Do All The Talking". The new tracks include covers of the classic songs "The Letter" and "One Night In Bangkok", with a fresh and unique A-Teens twist put on them. "Have A Little Faith In Me", "Shangri La" and "Shame Shame Shame" are enjoyable numbers as well. And finally, this disc includes the ballad version of "Heartbreak Lullaby", which I like more than the Ray Hedges mix (which is on the "Teen Spirit: New Version" album). Does the abundance of non-original material on this album mean that the A-Teens are drifting back toward being primarily a cover band? I don't know if that would be a good thing or not, honestly. While this album isn't quite as good as "Teen Spirit", it's definitely got something that "Pop Til You Drop" was missing. |
