4.0 out of 5 stars Pretty Good, April 11, 2005
This review is from: New Arrival (Audio CD)
A*Teens, the popular Swedish teen group, may not have the best voices in the world, but they sure have some catchy songs. All of them for the most part have a good beat, an energetic chorus, and cute lyrics.

1. Floorfiller - This is a great song to dance to. The beat is great, and the tune rocks. 10/10
2. Have A Little Faith In Me - This is a pretty good song. It's not their best, but it's a moderatly good listen. 7/10
3. Shame Shame Shame - I don't like this song at all. It seems very scrambled. The chorus is just the band screaming "Shame Shame Shame!" 2//10
4. Let Your Heart Do All the Talking - This is a good song. Cool beat, good lyrics. I like it. 8/10
5. A Perfect Match - This track is incredibly catchy. It's upbeat, fun, has a great tune, and cute lyrics. Great. 10/10
6. The Letter - This song is...interesting. It seems very blues, with a pop twist. The chorus is fun. 7/10
7. Cross My Heart - This song is good. The South American intro is a great addition. 8.5/10
8. In the Blink of an Eye - This track sounds like exactly what a teenager would sing. The song isn't great until the chorus, where it picks up. 7/10
9. School's Out - This song is all around fun. The beat is great. It's one of my favorites. 9/10
10. Closer to Perfection - This song is just ok. It's got a pretty good chorus, but is weak all of the rest of the time. 6.5/10
11. Shangri La - This one is also...interesting. I don't love it, but don't hate it either. 6/10
12. One Night In Bangkok - I like this song. The intro is great. 8/10
13. Can't Help Falling In Love - This is one of the better songs on the album. It's got the nicest tune. 9/10
14. Heartbreak Lullaby - This song sounds really sappy. It's nice, though at the same time. 8/10

Overall, this is a good pop disk. If you're a fan of Britney or Hilary, this CD is for you. Overall Rating: 8.5/10

5.0 out of 5 stars great stuff :), September 24, 2003
This review is from: New Arrival (Audio CD)
You can't go wrong with this one. This is A*Teens' third album, along with Pop til you drop.

1. Floorfiller
Awesome song. Very catchy. Great for coreographies and stuff. The video is cool too.

2. Have A Little Faith In Me
This is a pretty cool song. Its sweet. Kinda cheesy, but it's alrite. Kinda reminds me of Upside down.

3. Shame Shame Shame
Ahh, great song. Pretty catchy. Its a cover I believe.

4. Let Your Heart Do All The Talking
This song is great to sing and maybe to dance. It was released as a single but can u believe they didnt make a video for it? 0_o

5. Perfect Match
Well, this song is alrite. The radio version is better but its sorta the same thing. Pretty good. And the video is kinda cool too.

6. The Letter
Nice song. Repetitive, but nice. Another cover.

7. Cross My Heart
Ohhh clever latin beats in this one. I love it. Must hear.

8. In The Blink Of An Eye
Sweet ballad. Just sweet. Co-written by Marie. Cool.

9. School's Out
Alice cooper? wow... pretty cool cover.

10. Closer To Perfection
My favorite! This one is just awesome, one of the best a*teens' songs eer IMO.

11. Shangri-La
I love this song... its just so sweet. A personal favorite as well. Co-written by Amit.

12. One Night In Bangkok
This is an awesome cover! You gotta listen to this!

13. Can't Hel Falling In Love
Nice cover... pretty cool. The video is fun but sorta.. white? also on Lilo & Stich.

14. Heartbreak Lullaby
Its great that they added this song here. One of their best ballads indeed.

Overall this cd is a great album for any pop fan. It doesnt matters if u are an ateens fan or not, you might like this album. But I recomend you get their other stuff as well, cuz I must say, they have it goin on pretty well. I reccomend it. >_<

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome!, January 27, 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: New Arrival (Audio CD)
New Arrival is the Euro/Swedish/Asia Version of USA's Album Pop 'Til You Drop, which was released in the USA last June. Since A*Teens were in the USA promoting and doing concerts for this album, they wanted to hold off releasing it in other parts of the world so they could promote it when it was released there. So since Europe/Sweden/Asia had to wait for about 6 months for this Album, A*Teens wanted to give them something special! So, 6 songs were removed from the original Pop 'Til You Drop tracklisting, and replaced with 6 new songs! Also, two bonus tracks are featured on this album (Heartbreak Lullaby, and Can't Help Falling In Love)

1. Floorfiller
- This is A*Teens second single from Pop 'Til You Drop/New Arrival. Its a VERY good song, and one of my faves!

2. Have A Little Faith In Me
- This song was suppose to be on Pop 'Til You Drop, however A*Teens felt that it was more of a Euro song. I really enjoy this song :)

3. Shame Shame Shame
- This is a cover song, and they did a wonderful job on it!

4. Let Your Heart Do All The Talking
- This is a very cool song, nothing at all what you would expect!

5. Perfect Match
- This song is really pretty, and is kind of a ballad. However, this has became a single in Europe... and they used a Remix version for it! The video is REALLY cool!!

6. Letter
- Another cover song, which RULES! I reallllly like enjoy listening to this song!

7. Cross My Heart
- This song was Co-Written by Marie herself, and is def. beautiful. Shakira would have done the same!

8. In The Blink Of An Eye
- Marie also Co-Wrote this song too! Def. one of my faves, and it would also make a wonderful single!

9. School's Out (Feat. Alice Cooper)
- This is a VERY cool song, and was done very well! Alice Cooper wanted to do this song with A*Teens, and it was def. worth it!

10. Closer To Perfection
- This is def. one of the best songs on both albums! This song is one of my absolute favorites, and should def. be a single!

11. Shangri-La
- Did anyone notice that on Pop 'Til You Drop that all the members had a song they helped co-write... except Amit? Well, Amit makes his debute with this BEAUTIFUL song! Amit co-wrote this song, and its very very very beautiful.

12. One Night In Bangkok
- Yes, its another cover! And boy oh BOY does it sound GOOD! This is a REALLY REALLY cool song!

~*~ Bonus Tracks ~*~

13. Can't Help Falling In Love
- This is the song to Disney's Lilo & Stitch, and is a great cover song!

14. Heartbreak Lullaby
- This song was created for the Euro. version of The Princess Diaries. This is a very very pretty song, and one of my faves :) (NOTE, its the Ballad Version of the song)

So is New Arrival worth Importing? HECK YA! I love this CD! Both New Arrival and Pop 'Til You Drop share a special spot in my Stereo, and always will!!

Overall I think this CD is GREAT!!! A*Teens are gonna be around for a LONG LONG LONG time! Each new CD, they get better and better! :)

5.0 out of 5 stars FABULOUS!!!!, July 2, 2003
By
"dznygrl" (Keizer, Oregon United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: New Arrival (Audio CD)
I have already reviewed "Pop 'Til You Drop," so I will skip all of the songs that appear on that album.

As for the newer tracks...

HAVE A LITTLE FAITH IN ME--10/10--This is my second favorite song! So pretty and catchy! Makes you feel good, too.

SHAME SHAME SHAME--8/10--A great song for playing in the car. The chords when it goes into the chord sound sharp & strange, but it's still a funky song.

A PERFECT MATCH--10/10--I looove this song's lyrics because they're so unique! Very fun, sweet song.

THE LETTER--9/10--One of the better renditions I've heard of this song! I think they sound fantastic!

SHANGRI LA--8/10--Extremely pretty chorus. Not what I would consider the best song, though.

ONE NIGHT IN BANGKOK--7/10--This song was annoying at first, but it's definitely growing on me. It's great for a taste of something different, and I love it that the boys get so much more attention!

HEARTBREAK LULLABY--10/10--My definite favorite. It's just so beautiful and touching!

Obviously, I don't have a lot of negative comments about this album! I love most of the Pop 'Til You Drop tracks, so I was mostly interested in hearing the new ones. I was very pleased!! I like hearing Dhani and Amit sing more than usual, and I like the new funky flavor in these songs! A MUST-HAVE FOR ANY POP FAN!!!!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing, May 14, 2003
By
This review is from: New Arrival (Audio CD)
I'm a die-hard A*Teens fan, and when this came out, I didn't care about the outrageous price ~ and it's DEFINATELY worth it!

1.)Floor Filler ~ This is on Pop Til You Drop, but for some reason it sounds better on New Arrival...which is weird. But it's a really fun dancey song. 5/5
2.)Have a Little Faith in Me ~ One of my favorites. It shows that even though the A*Teens are recording different music now they still have that ... something that makes them unique. This one is more of a ballad, which I really like. 5/5
3.)Shame Shame Shame ~ I love this one too! It's really fun, dancey, and definately different. And as the chorous says - you'll wanna dance when you hear it! 5/5
4.)Let Your Heart Do All the Talking ~ Once again, I love this song! It's really cool, kinda nightclubby sounding (to me, anyway) and I love the use of the word "chickenhearted." 5/5
5.)Perfect Match ~ This song's really cool too! If you can, try to get the video from the A*Teens website, its really neat! 5/5
6.)The Letter ~ This one's OK...one of the only ones on the album I sometimes skip. It's just too repetitive. 4/5
7.)Cross My Heart ~ Latin-type music, which is strange coming from a bunch of Swedes - but they pull it off! 5/5
8.)In the Blink of an Eye ~ I love this one! Another slower song, which is nice, and it's got great vocals! 5/5
9.)School's Out ~ The other one I skip. It's OK, but it gets stuck in your head and I don't like Alice Cooper. 4/5
10.)Closer to Perfection ~ Weird, but I really like it. I love the chorous "now I got it together, stronger than ever..." it's really cool! 5/5
11.)Shangri-La ~ Another ballad, it's great though! It's really cool, and pretty...once again I love the chorus! 5/5
12.)One Night in Bangkok ~ MY ABSOLUTE FAVORITE! I know it sounds weird at first, but once you get used to the fact that its not going to be sugarcoated like most of their music, you really like it! I especially like the part when they say "Its Iceland...or the Phillipines...or Hastings...or, or this place!" 10/5
13.Can't Help Fallin' in Love ~ I love it! It's from Lilo and Stitch and Pop Til You Drop...if you can see the video on Disney, youll know why I like it! 5/5
14.Heartbreak Lullaby ~ another great ballad, love the vocals. 5/5

5.0 out of 5 stars The New Arrival is GREAT!!!!, March 22, 2003
This review is from: New Arrival (Audio CD)
This cd is definently better than Pop Til You Drop! This cd contains the best songs off Pop Til You Drop and new songs! There are three new cover songs "The Letter", "One Night In Bangkok" and "Shame Shame Shame" plus the other cover songs "School's Out" and "Can't Help Falling In Love". Those songs are all somewhat similar in having a bubblegum sorta beat! Then, there are "Shangri La", "Have A Little Faith In Me" and "Heartbreak Lullaby" that sound like they had been on Teen Spirit. Those songs are more bubblegum like than any other songs on this album!! Sara stands out most in "Let Your Heart Do All The Talking". I really like how Sara uses her voice in this (I can sound EXACTLY like her!)!! That song is my favorite song by far!!! "The Letter" and "Shame Shame Shame" are really cool songs because they are different, A*Teens haven't done anything like it before!! Marie stands out most in "Cross My Heart" because of her voice and the way she sings her lines!! Amit and Dhani stand out most in "A Perfect Match" (their latest single to date), "One Night In Bangkok" and "School's Out". "Closer To Perfection" and "Floorfiller" have a similar beat. They are both on Pop Til You Drop, but for some weird reason they sound a LOT better on this album than on Pop Til You Drop!

Here's a few words to describe each song:
Floorfiller- dancey, disco, party song.
Have A Little Faith In Me- cute, spirity, sweet.
Shame Shame Shame- cool, interesting, gotta-dance-with-it.
Let Your Heart Do All The Talking- Awesome, catchy, fun.
A Perfect Match- fun, interesting, creamy.
The Letter- cool, different, fun.
Cross My Heart- latin-pop, fun, creamy.
In The Blink Of An Eye- slow, sweet, inspiring.
School's Out- Summer-song, cool, interesting.
Closer To Perfection- inspiring, mature, cool.
Shangri La- sweet, bubblegummy, cute.
One Night In Bangkok- rappy, interesing, different...

Bonus Tracks:
Can't Help Falling In Love- Sweet, cute, gotta-love-it.
Heartbreak Lullaby- slow, beautiful, sweet.

This album is definently worth 1000 words and dollars!!! You have to get this!!! Great buy!!! If this isn't your type of music think about it, it's really cool...

5.0 out of 5 stars A-Teens New Arrival is awsome!, March 2, 2003
By
Chris Edwards (Philadelphia, Pennsylvania) - See all my reviews
This review is from: New Arrival (Audio CD)
Floorfiller- glad it was the 2nd A-Teens second song. A great dance song! A favorite!
Have a little faith in me- A great song to sing along too. I really enjoy this nice happy song!
Shame Shame Shame- An awesome cover song they did an excellent job on. Marie sounds very cool in this song!
Let your heart do all the talking- A very cool song that I'm glad is on both albums. Very different from what they've done!
A Perfect Match- A very nice a pretty song that rock! The guys sound very good in this one. The new video to the song is rockin'!
The Letter- another one of there all time classic remakes they've done. A very cool song!
Cross my heart- A very nice emotional and beautiful song that Marie co-wrote. Shakira would be proud!
In the Blink of an eye- An awesome and pretty song Marie co-wrote. A very nice song about things changing in the blink of an eye!
School's Out- A very cool and edgy remake from the A-Teens. They sound so good with Alice Cooper.
Closer to Perfection- A very cool song. Should definitely be a single. Very creative!
Shangri-La- This song is an ok song Amit co-wrote. The chorus is so old and annoying but the rest of the song is pretty good.
One Night in Bangkok- Definitely one of the best songs on the album where the A-Teens unexpectingly rap in the song. Damn this song sounds so good!

Bonus Tracks:
Can't help falling in love- One of my all-time favorties from the A-Teens that Marie sounds beautiful in. Definitely better that Elvis's version!
Heartbreak Lullaby- A very very pretty remake of themselves. Even though it is a bonus track it is definitely worth listening too!

Should you buy this import cd? Hell yeah. It will defiantly be worth it! The A-Teens are going be around for a very very long time!

This CD shows the best of the A-Teens. The A-Teens are cool already but this really hits the top. I rate this #1 on my list. I wish all radio stations played there songs.

4.0 out of 5 stars What "Pop Til You Drop" Should Have Been, March 18, 2003
By
This review is from: New Arrival (Audio CD)
If you haven't bought the A-Teens' U.S. album "Pop Til You Drop" yet, skip that one and buy this import CD. It's a bit more expensive, yes, but worth it.

This disc contains all the best tracks from "Pop Til You Drop" -- the addictive tropical-flavored "Cross My Heart", the dance-floor anthem "Floorfiller", the slice of Euro-pop heaven "Closer To Perfection", and the bouncy "Let Your Heart Do All The Talking". The new tracks include covers of the classic songs "The Letter" and "One Night In Bangkok", with a fresh and unique A-Teens twist put on them. "Have A Little Faith In Me", "Shangri La" and "Shame Shame Shame" are enjoyable numbers as well. And finally, this disc includes the ballad version of "Heartbreak Lullaby", which I like more than the Ray Hedges mix (which is on the "Teen Spirit: New Version" album).

Does the abundance of non-original material on this album mean that the A-Teens are drifting back toward being primarily a cover band? I don't know if that would be a good thing or not, honestly. While this album isn't quite as good as "Teen Spirit", it's definitely got something that "Pop Til You Drop" was missing.
