5.0 out of 5 stars Sweet story, June 29, 2006

My daughter loved this book when she was a little girl, so much so that she had the whole book memorized word-for-word before she was three years old because we had read it so many times! I am now purchasing it for my little granddaughter as she is about to become a big sister. Maybe not a typical family of the 21st century, but typical of the era in which it was written and a sweet story, nonetheless.

4.0 out of 5 stars Old Favorite, August 18, 2005
This review is from: The New Baby (A Little Golden Book) (Hardcover)
THE NEW BABY by Ruth and Harold Shane (and illustrated by Eloise Wilkin) is a Little Golden Book that was first published in 1948. The plot of the book is simple, Mike, a young boy is gradually prepared by his parents (and an occasional delivery man) for the arrival of a new baby to the family. The illustrations are great! I love Eloise Wilkin!

4.0 out of 5 stars childhood favorite, September 15, 2011

I remember this book from when I was a little girl. It was an all time favorite for me and brings back many great childhood memories. I had a hard time finding it so was thrilled to be able to buy it. The book was in a little worse condition than I was expecting. But the sentimental value outweighs that. I am quite satisfied with my purchase!
