5.0 out of 5 stars Great court shoes
I started playing racquetball regularly against my much younger and stronger/faster brother in law. I was wearing some old tennis shoes to play and found that they didn't offer nearly enough support for sudden changes in motion or for the running I was doing. 2.0 out of 5 stars CT1004W New Balance shoes
I am a big guy and I love to wear light weight tennis shoes. I was under the impression these shoes has thick soles and very good cushioning for my entire foot. However, I did not find that to be true. In the heel they have fgood padding, but not in the ball or the toe area. I can feel a nickel under the sole. I was simply looking for a thicker soled shoe. The vendor did...

5.0 out of 5 stars Great court shoes, November 21, 2009

I started playing racquetball regularly against my much younger and stronger/faster brother in law. I was wearing some old tennis shoes to play and found that they didn't offer nearly enough support for sudden changes in motion or for the running I was doing. I decided to buy a pair of shoes meant for playing tennis/racquetball and bought this pair from Amazon due to good reviews. I've had them for about a month now and really feel they've helped me play better. I can stop/start/move laterally much more comfortably and better than my old pair of shoes. I never think much about my feet now as I've got no issues with them. They are comfortable and look snazzy. I'm very happy with the purchase.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good shoe-just got GREAT, October 31, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
More comfortable than most tennis shoes. It is a tad more expensive than Wilson though. My foot width is 3E and it only comes in 4E so I have to clamp down on the laces quite a bit even with my ankle braces on. My only complaint with the shoe is, being a hard court grinder that I am, I get planar pain in my right foot. It could just be me, but I wanted to be honest here. Still, it is my shoe of preference over the Wilson 3E pro-staff which does not have enough cushioning for me (I weigh 195 lb!)

I have worn out 3 pairs now and I must add that I would not buy a different shoe for tennis. I just needed to get a 9 instead of my usual size, 9.5 to solve the problem of the shoe being too wide for me. Fantastic support for racquetball and tennis. My defensive game is far better now because this shoe will keep me steady even at full stretch for the ball.

5.0 out of 5 stars Back for my 2nd (or 3rd?) Pair, October 9, 2010

I've been buying New Balance for years and the CT1004 is a great shoe. Good balance, relatively light weight. As a mid 50's player with prior ankle injuries, the stability of the shoe is great. It is not the lightest shoe available, but it must be one of the lightest shoes given the stability offered. I've just ordered another pair.

5.0 out of 5 stars Nothing but New Balance, August 16, 2010
This is the best shoe I have ever worn..... First, I have wide feet, or, Freddies, and NB is the only maker wide enough. I am very hard on shoes on the tennis court, hard and clay courts, and these shoes hold up. I've even purchased an extra pair of black and white, each, to ensure I have enough to get through the season. Can't say enough good about these shoes. More colors would be nice, otherwise, perfect.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Shoe!, August 27, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
It's hard finding a good shoe in size 15US. I have a narrow foot, and my 6'4" 280lb frame makes it hard to be a shoe on the concrete courts. This shoe has padding and spring right where I want it and fits great. I rate it high as a shoe for tennis and high for just a normal shoe. I tried to buy another just to wear, but prices and deals change quickly.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesomely Awesome, June 8, 2009
Just discovered the joys of playing tennis and the need for sneakers that support your feet properly while playing tennis. These feel great, support my foot during lateral acceleration, and the black ones look cool! I can tell the difference between playing in these and my beloved 992's. I wouldn't run farther than 100 feet in the 1004's and I won't play tennis in the 992's (any more).

Recommended.

My 18 year-old son loves this shoes for tennis. He has a very wide foot so we appreciate the fact that New Balance offers wides in a good looking shoe. He's had many pairs over the years.

I bought these shoes for playing squash. They're very comfortable and provide needed stability. I'd recommend these shoes for any racquet sport.

5.0 out of 5 stars Comfortable and functional, July 1, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Comfortable, and very functional on the court. These run about a full size LARGER than what I wear in Nike & Adidas, so you might want to try some NBs on locally before ordering online to confirm your size.
