This running shoe was recommended by an orthopaedic surgeon for optimal comfort. This is true . The only problem is they shoe did not run according to size. It was a size bigger and I had to pay to return and exchange for a smaller size.

Loving these shoes - my little guy with flat feet bounces along in them. Well worth the money and import!!

I bought this shoe for my son who wears a small, in-shoe brace. The shoe is well made, very roomy (wide-width) and looks nice for school. He finds his new shoes comfortable. New Balance makes excellent shoes for children; very comfortable and stylish.

Please note, I did originally buy his true shoe size, however found after we received them, he needed a half size larger. We exchanged them for a proper size. This material (Black-AB) does not stretch, and did not accommodate the small brace. If your child wears a brace, you may need to go up half a size.

He has an older pair (Navy-NV) in his true size, same style (993) but stretchable material which does accommodate the brace.

We could not find this sneaker anywhere in a shoe store. The foot is a bit wider and more comfortable. My 8 year old son is now tying his own laces and these are also a perfect length.

Comfortable Kids shoe with a nice grown up look. Very supportive and comfortable. ( The wide size runs VERY wide ).

I bought these for my son who is almost 6, and they get a lot of wear and tear. They are very comfortable and he likes wearing them. I do need to buy new laces because they wore out, really quickly, from pulling them when tying them for him.

I loved my NB 992s so I thought the 993s would be similar. I was wrong. The material is very different and where the 992s molded almost instantly to my feet the 993s are stiff. They're actually so stiff they hurt my feet at the flex point of my toes and upper foot. They also feel sloppier on my foot.

I'm still trying to break them in but in my opinion the 993s are horrible. They look cheap, feel cheap (and hurt) and are a different color grey which is not as nice as the 992s. I would not recommend these shoes at all.
