These shoes are the best I've ever owned. I just bought my second pair after logging 350 miles on the first. I am a bigger guy so need more support than other shoes offer. I am 6'4" and 260 lbs (308 lbs when I started running). I've experience none of the knee problems with these shoes that I have in the past. I also like that they have a wider toe than other shoes. In the past, I have had problems with my toes being pinched together and it leading to ingrown toenails, black toenails and blisters. Those are not an issue with these shoes. I would offer that they are not the most stylish shoes given what seems to be popular today. If anything, they are plain. I stopped buying shoes for their looks and buy solely for function now. These shoes work so well, I would be wearing them if they were glittering purple. With so many other excuses that make it difficult to get out the door to run, uncomfortable shoes is the last thing anyone needs.

Out of all the shoes I have ever purchased to run in these are one of the best. I'm a big guy and since I have started running in theses shoes I no longer suffer with the sore and painful knee and ankle problems that I had with other brands. Just so you know I have read reviews from other Big runners who have not been happy with these shoes but there seem to be an even larger number who love them to death including me, in fact I'm so happy I just placed and order for 2 more pair because NB is phasing them out and they are being replaced with the 1012, which is almost the same but different Color(Blue).

The MR1011 is a great running shoe for over pronators with flat feet. I am training for a marathon this fall and have had no pain or discomfort. Thanks for making great sneakers New Balance!

I bought these shoes after trying on about 10 other shoe models. Of all the shoes, these seemed the most comfortable for my wide foot. They offer great support and are lightweight. The shoes breathe well and dissipate heat through the toe area effectively.

I have been a runner for decades, and these are the best shoes I have ever owned. I'm buying my second pair now and hope they last as long as my first pair!

I bought this New Balance tennis a few years ago to help prevent further injury to my ankle when I get involved in various sports. Up to this day I still use it for running, and even football (which calls for alot of quick direction-changing running). Have not had an ankle injury yet when using them.

After reading reviews on this, I gave it a try. My wife is a huge NB fan. I have owned asics, adidas, and a brooks beast in the last few years and been happy with all.

This shoe felt ok initially, but after about 20 minutes, it made my feet (actually, just my right foot) sore. Just to note, I always buy shoes 2 pair at a time because new shoes can make your feet hurt just because they will naturally be more supportive than your worn in shoes, so your arch may not be used to it. After a couple months of wearing my new asics and these, these shoes still hurt my feet. I have tried them with and without my orthodics. They also don't hold my orthodics correctly, and the medial arch ON THE RIGHT SHOE ONLY moves up and down. I have NEVER had this problem with any other shoes, or even the left NB 1011 shoe.

I searched for more reviews on this shoe and found that this is a common problem on the new version. It seemed that many 1010 lovers, could not stand this shoe. Hopefully this is the case, but I don't plan on spending another $100 just to see if the 1010 is better. I will stick with my asics and brooks beast. The brooks is by far the best shoe, but I was looking for something with a litte more style.

The only reason it got 2 stars is the left shoe felt ok, so they were doing at least something half right.

Comfortable shoe, NOT very durable... Six weeks of use and bottom already smooth!

My husband has a very high arch and a wide foot at the front. These runners are perfect - they have good toe cap space and are very adjustable to accommodate the narrower heel area. There is plenty of room for an orthodic device. They are light weight but extremely stable. He couldn't be happier.

I've never tried a motion control shoe and found this one a nice blend of lot's support but some cushioning also. No question a good shoe for a bigger person.

I really don't do a lot of running, but these "Motion Control" shoes are just the thing for my 75-year old feet. This is good because I only take them off when I go to bed or get "dressed-up". The best part of buying them from from Road Runner Sports through Amazon.com is that I could get the shoe that I wanted in the size that I need - a combination that I find impossible in shoe stores.
