New Balance Men's MR2002 Heritage Cushioning Running Shoe

For years I have been buying both running and walking shoes, but always end up with pain along the outside edge of my right foot (I'm heavy, under-pronate and have a high arch). Just last week, I walked into the New Balance store wearing a brand new pair of 993's, and was still in pain while researching the idea of purchasing the new 2002 model running shoes. Yesterday, I received my new shoes from Amazon and put them on, and went walking. NO PAIN! The cushioning is like a pillow under my feet! The fit is wonderful and the craftsmanship is superior (as you would expect for a $239.00 pair of running shoes), and the shoe looks like a work of art. In my case, the money I save by not needing to purchase custom made orthotics (which was my next step), pays for the price of the shoes. Money well spent for my situation. I am getting ready to purchase a second pair so I can rotate them daily. If your in the market for a neutral cushioned running shoe, this model might be worth considering.

Wow. I received this shoe a few weeks ago and the cushioning is the best I've ever seen. I normally have to wear custom inserts but not with this shoe, great arch support and comfortable. The shoe is a dark gray and looks great with about any casual attire. My foot doesn't slip and slide with this shoe like most when on a run. You're foot will feel like it's bolted into this shoe and comfortable when you tighten up the laces for a run..I guess I'm spoiled now and will wear New Balances premium shoe from now on. I'd definitely recommend this shoe, it's worth the money.

You get for what you pay. This pair of shoes is excelent for several purposes: for dayly walk, smooth and really comfortable, for running, it fits perfectly your foot, it is a massage for your feet, cushion your knees against the hardness of the ground, specially when your are over fifty years. You run miles and you feel flying like a bird. Dont think that you are overpaying for the product, the money is there, in a cushioning cocoon for your feet.

My husband is a big fan of New Balance tennis shoes and these are top notch! They are so comfortable he can't wait to get them on after being in boots all day at work and on the weekends they never leave his feet! Wouldn't hesitate to buy another pair! Fit was true to size for him and the cost was definitely worth it!

I wanted a super comfortable shoe. I spend a lot of time walking in my line of work and I usually buy Mephisto shoes for their legendary comfort and craftsmanship. Many Mephisto's were made in France, but as of late their producing more and more in Portugal which I think has affected their quality a bit. So I decided to look into other higher end walking/running shoes that are known for comfort. I looked long and hard, ecco, clarks, etc.. but nothing hit the spot. Then I realized how much I liked my NB 99x's over the years and decided to look into a new pair.. when I did my search, I came across the 2002.. I saw the price and said to myself, this is either a great shoe or it's a way to extort money from loyal NB fans.. I decided to go into a local NB store and try one on.... I wear a 12 2E normally (with my 993's) but when I put on the 2E I found it fit great, but a bit tight on the sides.. so I went with a 4E and the shoe fit like an old worn pair of sneakers... I walked around the store and the assurance I felt from the support, the grip and balance of the shoe was like the best Mephisto's that sell for over $400... I decided to take the plunge and got a pair. That was 3 weeks ago and the shoe is even more comfortable now that it's a bit broken in.. I can't say well enough of the comfort, but equally important is the workmanship and materials.. the shoe likes like the day I bought it.. no signs of wear and tare, nor any scuffing on the fine leather (nubuck). I rate these as the best pair of sneakers I've ever worn and the best part is that they're made right here in the USA of mostly US parts and materials. Keep up the great work NB..

I am fully satisfied of my New Balance MR2002, although it was not a surprise for me. As a matter of fact I have been wearing New Balance shoes since 1990 and the only time I tried a different make I was quite disappointed. This brand of shoes makes walking and running a real enjoyement.

These shoes are amazingly comfortable. I've owned them for a few months now, and I just did a 10-mile hike in them (rough, mountainous terrain) without getting a single blister. I bought a second pair for the future, in case they're discontinued.

Sure, it's too expensive for a sneaker; but in the end, it's simply the best fitting and best feeling shoe around. Maybe New Balance will drop the price, but right now it remains one of those luxuries you indulge in. And I don't run. It's my every day, all day shoe.

Great runners , shoes .N/B keep supplying what is required . I have arthritis in my big toes and find New balance one of the few brands I can wear with comfort . The MR 2002's are no exception and are like wearing slippers they are so light and comfy .

Wore them straight out of the box without any trouble and found the sizing to be true .

Great colour and style and I wear them as an every day shoe . A bit pricy but you only get what you pay for and the quality is second to none compared to some of the other brands I have tried in desperation plus they are made in the USA which you gotta love .

My husband says that these sneakers are the absolute best! He was having some back issues as he is on his feet for many hours but now has no further back problems. At first the "cupping" of the heel and arch support was difficult to get used to but his feet quickly adjusted. Worth every penny!
