I bought this for my husband. He loves it - it is lightweight, it protects his toes, BUT it is not waterproof as claimed.

I have used New Balance trail shoes for many, many years, and put a ton of mileage on them. I love them, but was looking for something that would keep my feet dry when running through puddles, and in muddy and snowy conditions. These shoes have done great. They are a tad stiffer than my regular New Balance trail shoes, but they have kept my feet dry under very wet conditions. I will use them when I know my feet would otherwise get wet.

This is a great shoe for anyone wanting support and stability. I walk, not run, but it is waterproof and comfortable. Would recommend it highly.

The New Balance 1110gt is one of best shoes I have ever owned. It is a "lighter" version of the NB MDS 1100 (Marathon des Sables) shoe that I think is the absolute best shoe that I ever run in. Still, the 1110gt model has several advanced characteristics such as Gore-Tex, Rockstop 2 and Toe protect (a solid toe cap to save your toes when you smash them into obscured rocks). Stability, support and traction are excellent. Amazon's price was too good to pass up!

It's not everyday you can find a shoe in size 6 EEEE! These shoes fit my freakish feet exactly. And they are MUCH better looking than most shoes that come in such widths. I'm not running right now - knee problems - but I live right beside some trails and I hope to be running them again soon. In the meantime, I often walk my dog in the trails and these shoes are great.

My partner bought these at a New Balance store yesterday and loves them. He got them for our trip to Costa Rica and trekking through the rain forest. He can't wear hiking boots because of their uncomfortable but these are very light and water proof and comfortable. He is going to buy a second pair to have in reserve since it is so hard for him to find shoes that fit for him.
