They fit as expected and appear to be very well made.
The shoe fits perfectly and is very comfortable with arch support.
The shoe fits perfectly, I have to say it is always difficult to find my size, but when I do it is always a joy.

I rarely leave reviews, but I thought this shoe had warranted one. I have really flat, wide feet and it's almost impossible to find a shoe that fits right and is light. Most running shoes for guys like me are either too narrow, too high of an arch, or look like old man shoes that feel like you're lugging around bricks on the bottom of your feet! These are by far the lightest shoe I have found that is comfortable, supportive and has plenty of toe box. The build quality is superb and the vibram sole is a bonus. These look even better in person.

So, if you're wishing you could wear nike free's and such, but can't, check these out! No, they aren't as light as those, but they are nothing compared to the weight of a bulky, expensive stability shoe. I normally wear a 10 in NB, but 9.5 2E suited me best. Order a half size down.

I purchased these shoes as a trail runner/ light backpacking shoe. Although other reviews said they run big, which they do, it is for the purpose of letting your feet have room to swell on long days. I took them out for a short hike to try them out and they worked great. I didn't use all the lacing holes and my foot slid forward during a steep downhill section. Overall it was a good check. More recently I took them on a 16.2 mile hike/ run with 8,000' of elevation change. These shoes killed it! I had no hot spots or blisters all day and I never had problems on the bottom of my foot from the devil rocks on the trail. For this downhill I laces the shoes all the way up and my foot stayed in place. These are my new go to backcountry shoes and will be buying another pair once I wear these out.

This is hands down the most comfortable out of the box running shoe I have ever worn. I have about 50 miles on them and couldn't be happier. I'm a big guy, 6 feet 230lbs, and worry about knee and ankle injury when running, not an issue with these shoes! Tread pattern is great for trails, I run some pretty nasty ones with lots of roots, mud, loose rock, etc., but it also works fine on pavement. I generally wear a size 13 running shoe and as the other reviews state, these run a little on the big size (by design) I decided to stick with my normal size and have had no problems though a 12.5 would have probably been fine as well. Buy these shoes, you won't be disappointed!

I moved to this shoe after almost two years trail running and hiking on both the Brooks Cascadia 6 trail runner (Men's 10D) and the New Balance MR842 road runner (Men's 9EE). Both of those shoes were fine for runs and hikes of any distance as long as the trail was pretty mellow. But add big downhills and/or chossy, loose terrain and anything more than two hours turned into a long day outside for my dogs. Especially if I was also carrying a pack. It was hard to get the shoes tight enough to prevent mashing my toes on long descents and at the end of the day ankle support was wanting. The road shoe also had traction problems and both shoes left the bottoms of my feet sore due to their soles' flexibility. As it turns out, I think they were both too narrow for my foot, causing my heel to spill over the heel cup.

Enter the New Balance MT1210. I was looking for something with a little more support and rigidity and was willing to sacrifice some trail feel to get it. I originally ordered this shoe in Men's 9EE but they were too narrow in the heel so I sent 'em back for the 9EEEE, which fit much better. However, I don't know if the shoes are sized a little narrow or if my foot is getting fatter. Whether trail running, light hiking, or overnight backpacking, everything is better in these shoes. They provide awesome traction and foot support, and even some ankle support, without giving up any trail feel when compared to my earlier Cascadias and NBs. Toe strike has been non-existent and the bottoms of my feet don't feel bruised at the end of the day. I also appreciated the extra space in the toe box and forefoot.

It did take me a few trial runs and walks to get the lacing just right to prevent heel slippage, but it was worth it.

I love this shoe! It fits slightly longer and wider than other shoes. I need the width but not the length, so I sized a half size down and went from 2e to 4e. Only complaint is that the heel could fit a little bit more secure.

Cushioning is very good - at first its very firm but it becomes softer with usage (but never mushy, rather bouncy and responsive). It's not the most flexible shoe on the market but for a trail shoe it's ok - forefoot of the montrail badrock is slightly more flexible.Traction is very good on every surface and I even like the shoe on the road (my usual door to trail run includes 4 miles of road). What else... Durability - after 50 miles I can't see any signs of wear - it's designed for ultra marathons so I guess it's very durable. The upper is not water repellant, so water gets in easily but it dries fairly quickly. It doesn't feel heavy but if it is sized too big it can feel a little clumsy (just not so nimble). It's really important to choose the right size to get a secure fit. Last but not least - it has a medial post, but that doesn't get in the way of my running form.
