Ran the Tough Mudder (10 mile mud run) in these babies and they were perfect.

Here's why:
- They fit exactly like the rest of the New Balance line (I wear 11eeee and they fit perfectly)
- They are light.
- They have some great grip.
- They dry out quickly
- They don't hold mud (that much)

I could not have asked for anything better.

They are the lightest of the NB shoes with tread to go hiking. Fantastic arch support. I can run and jog without joint pain since switching to these shoes. This is my 2nd pair of 810's. Held up well to everyday and workouts 5x a week for 10 months. I can't imagine switching to a different shoe. Took me 40 years to find a shoe this comfortable.

I run on a variety of surfaces and don't like how slick feeling regular shoes can be on slightly muddy surfaces. This shoe gives me the grip I need to feel secure on dirt, leaves, grass and pavement.

I have really wide feet (14EEEE), but every New Balance shoe I've tried fit me perfectly. The mesh is a bit stretchy, so the shoe fits snugly, but has enough give to be comfortable. The mesh also helps keep my feet cool and dry. That obviously cuts both ways: step in a puddle and you'll know it pretty fast.

The heel has plenty of padding in the heel so pavement isn't an issue at all for me.

To sum up, I'm really happy with the shoes.

Update: August 2013
I've been using these daily and they're wearing great. The padding in the heel's doing its job and my feet are happy. I have bunion bone on my left foot and the mesh of the shoe is stretchy enough not to cause problems at all. STILL happy! :D

Update: Dec 2013
They finally started showing enough wear to retire from running/walking. I've been putting about 3 miles a day on them since buying them, mostly on asphalt or concrete. Since the tread is getting smoother on the bottom, they're now my racquetball shoes! :D
I replaced this pair with an identical shoe and am ordering a third pair for when I wear out the newest pair.

After putting 600 miles on my M880TR's I was sold on New Balance. Sadly, when I went to order a new pair I found out that they were discontinued. I did some research and found that the MT810's appeared to be the hybrid trail shoe that fit my needs.

They fit comfortably right out of the box and are a very light shoe. I knew after a few miles that these were not a replacement for my 880's. The outsole lacks stability on even mildly uneven ground. My feet and ankles experienced a lot of roll and I have to be very careful where my feet land. A portion of my running courses is pavement, which is why I look for a hybrid road/trail shoe. Though these were described as that combination, a few miles of contact with the pavement shredded the outsole of these shoes. After 100 miles the lugs are worn almost smooth.

I would not recommend these shoes to anyone who intends to run 10+ miles a week in them. Or to anyone who intends to run on rugged terrain. Or to anyone who intends to run primarily on the pavement.

I'm a very heavy runner at 6'4" an 235lbs. I normally wear mizuno wave creation and typically I'm a heel striker and my feet tend to role outward (supinate). A friend suggested minimalist shoes and these shoes are great. It takes some getting used to because it forces you to change your running style but I feel more stable when running even on un-even ground. The soles are thick and provide good cushioning. My only critique is that they are more pointed than I'd like but that does not matter given how good they feel. Plus, according to the tag they are made in the USA. I cannot speak to the durability since I've not had them very long.

It's very comfortable and very light. When I run with it, I feel very relaxed and less than the weight.

So far so good, although I haven't really tested them yet on more technical trail. The shoe is comfortable and durable. The best part is how well ventilated the MT810 is to allow your foot to "air out". The traction is a perfect hybrid for road running and less technical trail runs, no slippage and grips well. The one knock I would give it is in the toe region as the tip tapers to the middle rather than the right or left leaving less room for the "big" toe. Other than that I am perfectly satisfied with my purchase. One last thing, as with all the New Balance shoes I've experienced, if you have a high arch this is not the shoe for you.

**Update: I used the MT810 for a 35.1 mile trail challenge and boy were my feet VERY HAPPY at the end. The trail consisted of over 5800 feet of climb, various terrains (large rock, gravel, dirt, mud, pavement). The shoe handled it all with ease. I paired the shoe with Injinji 2012 Performance Original Weight Micro Toe Socks and they both worked GREAT. I had one tiny blister and kept all of my toenails this year, last year with different shoes and socks I had multiple blisters the size of quarters and lost 3 toenails.

SO YES BOTH MY FEET AND I RECOMMEND THE MT810!!

i Returned the Shoes because they were not wide enough and they kind of looked slightly worn or assemble bad. Glue was coming out of the side of the shoe where the sole was and the sole looked like someone gave them a trial run. But again Amazon handled the issue without hesitation.
