The 876 has all the essential features a serious trail shoe needs: Rockstop, fast draining liner, solid toe protection without being too bulky, and great traction even in moving water over mossy rocks.

This is a good trail running shoe. I ran my first 80 mile ultra marathon 1 year ago. Since then I have used many different shoes or none at all. The 900 series was favorable with the 908 being the best, but later changes made it disappointing because of the addition of Gortex in the 910 which is useless in a serious trail shoe and the liner collapsing in the 909.

I have used this shoe almost a month and it is getting better with time. I only hope that no changes are made to this model, and this shoe is kept in production just the way it is. It fits my needs perfectly.

The Tongue of this shoe is sewn in the entire length, so there is no adjustment for volume. Even though the shoe was my size, it was too tight around the top.

I have run 2 marathons in NB (road shoes not trail). So, I have no beef with NB.
However, they are extremely narrow. I usually wear 2E width, but had to exchange the 2E's for the 4E shoe and one size larger than usual. Little toes still bulge out with anything but super thin socks. Cushioning is so-so. Ball of my left foot hurt after just a few days of wear. I also like Brooks, but could not find a trail shoe of theirs that was wide enough.
I will not buy these again.
