I rarely wear "real" shoes. I have several pairs of dress shoes (things made out of leather that are heavy and that many or most adults are expected to wear except when actually engaged in some sort of athletic activity) that I reluctantly don for weddings, funerals and other occasions when I must dress as an adult. But I find almost all of them uncomfortable and as a tenured University full professor/researcher, one of the perks of my job is that I don't have to wear them. I have been wearing New Balance "cross trainers" almost exclusively for a long time. I have wide feet and the 11 1/2 EE size fit my wide feet perfectly and comfortably. Most of the cross trainers look like something that belongs on a softball field, so when I came across the MW780 walking shoe with it's soft brown brushed leather appearance, I ordered a pair. I love them and wear them all the time. They are just as light and comfortable as the cross-trainers that I have been wearing for years, but they look much more like "real" shoes. They go well with jeans, or with khakis and a sports jacket and the price is right. I'll be buying another pair or two.

The first size that we ordered was too small. The return was easy and within one week we received the correct size. The New Balance Men's MW780 is a great shoe! We are very hapy with the return process at Amazon!

Very good shoes. Better order half a size larger than your regular size, and medium wide to feel confortable.

I have owned a dozen pairs of NB shoes, and have found them to be more comfortable than any other brand. One pair is over 10 years old, and still feels like walking on a cloud. This new pair has already been worn on a long hike, and even though they were not 'broken in' - me feet were in perfect shape. I highly recommend these shoes!

Just got me a pair from Shoe mall. Nice looking, lightweight, and seems to be well made. Size fit perfect.

Thanks to previous reviews, I followed the advice to visit a New Balance store and check on proper shoe size. I measure size 11 and in a New Balance shoe I need a size 12. Get the sizing right and you will love the shoe!

I ordered this shoe in a 12 2E, a size I have worn for many years; the shoe fit like a size 11. I currently have a pair of NB 746 size 12 2E that fit perfectly that is why I ordered these new NB. My complaint is I have to pay for the return shipping; it is Amazons job to monitor their product quality, not mine.

I've worn New Balance shoes for years and was always happy with their wider widths so I've always bought 11Ds. When I received this pair, they looked great but they also appeared to be very narrow near the ends. Sure enough, they were extremely tight and a little short. Once I return them (exchance on these not allowed and you pay shipping cost) I might decide to order a half size bigger and the widest available.

I ordered and owned three pairs of the New Balance 622 cross-trainers in the past but only white was available in my size this time, so I decided to try the 780's this time. As expected, the quality is excellent and fit like a glove. That is why I purchase New Balance. They don't need a breaking in period, fit as they should, and come in something besides white or black!

I bought a pair of these and was pretty pleased. And then it started raining. These shoes have traction in dry weather, but once it starts raining, well, just don't walk on slick surfaces. I had to stop wearing them because I kept slipping and falling due to lack of decent traction.
