4.0 out of 5 stars Very comfortable
I bought these in a size 11.5 D (medium) width. Stats: male, 37, 5'11", 220 lbs, moderatley active.
While there was an initial break-in period, they were well worth the effort. Just getting back into tennis after a long lay-off, they fit perfectly after softening up a bit and adding decent cushioning insoles. No blisters, excellent lateral stability, fairly...

3.0 out of 5 stars Tongue slides to one side
i have bought NB shoes for as long as I can remember. This particular pair aren't what I'm used to. The tongue keeps slipping to the side. Very annoying. I've read similar complaints about other NB shoes doing the same thing. I hope that NB addresses these concerns!!

4.0 out of 5 stars Very comfortable, June 24, 2010

I bought these in a size 11.5 D (medium) width. Stats: male, 37, 5'11", 220 lbs, moderatley active.
While there was an initial break-in period, they were well worth the effort. Just getting back into tennis after a long lay-off, they fit perfectly after softening up a bit and adding decent cushioning insoles. No blisters, excellent lateral stability, fairly lightweight. Leather where they should be, mesh where possible to keep feet cool, relatively speaking (I live in Phoenix, will be playing today, 113 degrees.)
Too early to tell if they will be durable, but they seem well constructed.
Compared to similarly priced Adidas, Nike, Asics and Wilson. Asics were close. Adidas were narrow. Nike and Wilson were both terrible; lots of places rubbing against the foot, not smooth inside like the New Balance. Tried more expensive NB's but these seemed the most stable.

This shoe is a replacement for the MC654 Tennis Shoe. It's a great shoe, great fit and very comfortable. Comes true to size.

Love the 4E wide shoes. It doesnt pinch my toes. Also very light. Dont know I am wearing shoes while I am playing tennis. Amazon pricing lower than the New Balance store plus free shipping and no sales tax makes it very attractive.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great for Stop and go sports like racquetball, November 30, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Short and sweet. I have a wide foot and New Balance on one of the shoe manufacture that makes them in wide. These fit great and when stop and going they grip like a cheetah. I love these shoes and recommend them to anyone that plays hard!

5.0 out of 5 stars best shoe ever, November 17, 2011

These are perfect for playing Racquet Ball. They are the most comfortable tennis shoe I have ever owned and I have been playing Racquet Ball for over 40 years. My feet do not fatigue in this shoe. They offer several widths to fit any foot. And they are Made in America.

Nice shoe. Bought these to replace an old pair of 653's. Good fit (10.5D) and super saver delivered in less than a week (surprise!). Slightly surprised to find that the white shoe has green and silver accents (NB logo and sole), but this wasn't a deal breaker for me since the color's fairly subtle. Choose white/navy if you really prefer neutral.

Very good shoe for the price, ordered size EEEE, was wider than I thought it would be but fits comfortably. I don't know if it's because of the tennis shoe design but it feels and looks wider than my other size EEEE New Balance walking and running shoes.

This review is from: New Balance Men's MC655 Tennis Shoe (Apparel)
This is my third pair of New Balance tennis shoes, having previously worn and loved NB653 and NB654 tennis shoes, size 9.5 4E. The new NB655 shoes don't fit. The cushioning is great, which is why I gave them 2 stars instead of 1. But it seems that the shape of the 655 is narrower in the forefoot and wider in the midfoot and heel compared to the NB653 and NB654. While the 653's and 654's fit perfectly, these shoes are too narrow in the front and my foot sloshes around in the heel. I've had them stretched to accommodate the forefoot, but they are still too big in the heel. What a disappointment.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great tennis shoe for the price!, January 3, 2012
This review is from: New Balance Men's MC655 Tennis Shoe (Apparel)
I have tried various tennis shoes(Adidas barricades, New Balance ) I found these to be the most comfortable. When i play with friends we play for minimum of 3 hours straight outdoors. If i were wearing my previous shoes i would have severe pain and aching at the bottom of my feet. I guess the cushioning or the design of the shoe completely minimizes the impact on my feet. And the price for the shoe is awesome! Im ordering another 2 pairs for back ups.
