My job requires me to stand on concrete all day , i also have very bad feet to begin with , so i am not a "runner". I have relied on NEW BALANCE for many years now for my work shoe requirements (plus my orthodics). My recent order was for theNew Balance Men's MR749 Running Shoe,they were advertised as "high stability",which sounded like it would be even better for my feet.

Well! I could tell as soon as i laced the "749's" up that they will be the best NB shoe yet. I wore them this morning just for a little while, and they feel much better than my current NB 409"s (which are also new). The MR749 is a very good shoe !

I was also very pleased with the seller,Road Runner. They provided fast delivery(4 days),free shipping,a return label was included, and they followed up with a phone call to ensure delivery and satisfaction. THANKS AMAZON and ROAD RUNNER !

Do you know how hard it is to find shoes that fit comfy on my size 14 2E feet?! Ever since I heard about New Balance offering most of their shoes in wide options I've been a fan of them, and these sneakers do not falter New Balance's name!

What I like:

-They are light weight.

-They have great support, even for me someone as tall as I am (6'5").

-They have little holes on the front that allow air to pass through and keep your feet cool! I like this a lot.

-They are comfy.

-They are made in the USA.

What I dislike:

-Nothing worth mentioning!

Overall: Great pair of sneakers from a person who has a hard time finding a great pair of sneakers!

Totally awesome shoe... I have mild pronation and this shoe gives me the support I need. My first pair I purchased in Nov. '09... I ran about 10 miles a week on pavement and some light trail. I ran 3 races (short 5K to 4 milers). Now I'm training for the MCM in October so I just bought another pair.

Pros:

-arch support

-cost

Cons:

-Gold (other colors cost more)

If you don't care about the color the Gold one is about $45 others ones can run up to $80 which I don't get...

We originally bought these gym shoes for my son at a men's shoe store because we thought he needed a wide. He was profesionally fitted and it was determined he did not need a wide. When I got home I went to the Amazon website and realized the same shoes were $20 cheaper at Amazon than the price at the shoestore. Needless to say I purchased them on Amazon and returned the other pair to the shoe store. My son who has flat feet and problems with his ankles says these are the most comfortable shoes he has ever worn. He wears them everyday and they have held up very well. I am considering buying another pair in the next size up so we will have them handy when he needs them. Great comfortable shoe for the price!

I always have to rely on New Balance for the super wide sizes to accommodate my duck feet. :)

Thanks to the mesh design, you will have a very comfortable, cool and dry experience with these shoes, no matter what activity you partake with them. That being said, don't buy these shoes for cold weather, only logical right? Because of the mesh construction, these shoes are also very light, another bonus.

Great construction with quality throughout and thoughtful design, the only thing missing is a built in place to carry my keys. I use these for running/jogging/walking but think these would be great as an all around comfort sneaker to wear outside of exercise and training.

This model 749 is made in USA of imported materials.

The shoes were purchased for runs of 3-5 miles about 4 times/week. In the few weeks I have used them they have held up well, nice stability and heel comfort.

Amazon gets an A+ for having the best prices on running shoes ...

NB749 ... decent lightweight running shoe.. I've been training for the past 16 weeks in preparation for my 1st Marathon .. Got NB749 a month ago and so far i've done one 13 mile run, several short runs (4 - 6 miles), two 2 mile hill runs and some 400m sprints in them ... so i've really been pushing them ... my other runs are done in a Saucony ProGrid Hurricane 10

My findings: I would prefer a bit more arch support in the NB749, otherwise its great for my short & hill runs ... after my 13mile run, i felt slight soreness in my achilles tendon & tightness in arch, which i dont usually experience with the Saucony Hurricane 10, so i now do all longer runs in the Sauconys... Shoes fit to size.

I have been wearing the MR749 at 14EE for a few weeks now and really do like the shoes. The fit was perfect and they feel stable with the stock inserts. Most shoes get the length right, but the width was always a challenge. The EE width was advertised correctly and these shoes do not scrunch my feet.

I've been running in asics for about five years and my last pair were starting to get worn out. So I decided to order a pair on line and when I came across this ones in Yellow and Black I really liked how they looked, so I placed the order against my will. I just finish my tenth run (average 4 to 5 mile/per run) and I gotta say I was very surprised from day one, they feel great and light and really fit nice and snug. I've always had a small small discomfort on the outside of my left foot and I though it would never get any better than how it felt in my asics but let me tell yeah, I haven't felt it yet! so I'm really excited!. So far so good lets see how long they last...

I've recently gotten more into cardiovascular workouts, mainly jogging and tennis. Although this is a shoe built to support running I find it very comfortable and supportive for both. I love the mesh outside which allows for my feet to breathe easier and stay much cooler during workouts. The bottoms have lots of bounce to them which I like too. These sneakers looks sheik without looking too overly loud and obnoxious like a large percentage of other track shoes. I highly recommend this shoe and I save alot of money buying this on Amazon rather than what they sold for at sporting stores at the mall.
