After a few months of running in the NB826, I bought the NB805 and tested them yesterday on a long tempo run. Here are my impressions:

Where the 826 in size 11½ is leaving ample room for the foot, I had to pick the 805 in size 12, and even then are they leaving no extra space for the feet to move inside the shoe during a run. Good for fast and short runs but not for long slow ones.

The 805 provide a very low fit, are very close to the ground and feel like the sole is comparatively thinner than the 826. Running on even moderately irregular trails is less pleasant with the 805 than the 826 because of the additional freedom of movement at the ankle level. Expect to feel small rocks when stepping on them while running on dust trails.

Finally, the grip of the 805 is perfectly adequate for road running but not for dirt trails where I often found myself slipping a bit when running uphill.

I picked up a pair of NB 805's at my place of work, for a phenomenal price ($27). I was unsure at first, for these are exceptionally light shoes with little cushion to speak of, but decided to give them the college try.

I am impressed. The design of this shoe emphasizes speed and fluidity. What there is beneath the foot consists of a strong, dominant arch, and Abzorb technology, light on bulk but surprisingly good at alleviating impact. The heel is a bit lower than many runners, focusing the strike point more on the front section of the foot, at a more natural tilt. This can help runners to avoid shin splints and shin pain associated with the heel striking first, which can cause a dorsiflexed (tip of foot pointing up) foot to plantarflex (tip of foot pointing down) too forcefully, and cause muscle pain. Although the MR805 is not really designed as a long-distance runner, its interpretation of foot placement and support allows for extended runs with less muscle fatigue, and less felt impact. Good things, these.

For those who are into Chi running, this is a nice choice. The high arch funnels contact to the strong ball of the foot, allowing for the forward center of gravity used. The featherlight weight also helps.

Lastly, it's a durable shoe. The arch is designed to hold up, and has done so for me admirably so far. Tread wear seems good, and no wear is visible save for some fraying along the soft inner lining where it comes up over the mouth of the shoe. And it looks awesome as well(I have the red and black model).

Fit is important. I tried two sizes, and found even a mere half-size off had the arch in the wrong place for my foot. I turned to the smaller of the two sizes I most commonly fit into. The shoe fits me very snugly, but the arch felt best where it is at. Make sure you find your fit, for this shoe's arch is too prominent for a bad fit - you will feel it fast when you run in it.

Was pretty skeptical about ordering shoes online, but i was more than satisfied when i got these in the mail. Very well built, comfortable, super light and great to run in. Some reviews have said they arent good for long runs, but i have to disagree. While im no marathon runner, these shoes more than handle my short runs of about 1.5-2 miles. Havent had the chance to take them on any trails, but runs through the city and sprints are great and they arent trail shoes to begin with so i dont know why you would be disappointed that they perform less than adequate under those conditions. There is slightly less padding on the sole than i am used to but have gotten used it that pretty quickly. Overall great shoe for what i need and for the money. Hey they look great with shorts and jeans too! Enjoy!

These are cool sneakers. They look great and have very sharp colors that make a statement. They are very comfortable, lightweight, and durable. They are great for running and for walking as they provide great traction and stability.

I had to return them because they were too small. The 14 fit like a 13 and the D was not a true D.

You forget you even have shoes on, these are so light. I'm a big guy and they've held up as well during my attempts to get into better shape. Really helped reduce the impact on my knees which are very bad as well. good ventilation as well.

I get more compliments on these shoes than I have for just about any other shoe I have owned. That's saying a lot, because I'm a shoe guy. I currently have about 25 pairs, with lots of Puma shoes and other stylish kicks, but these are one of my favorites. I bought them with the expectation that I could use them as running shoes. I think the only down side I can gather is that they aren't the best running shoe for me because I'm 6'4" and 225 pounds and need a little more arch support than they offer. For a smaller runner with better arches I'm sure they are excellent shoes though.

Highly, HIGHLY recommended for sport or fashion.

My husband loves these shoes for the comfort level, but the color is a bit much!

Great shoe. The price/quality is uncomparable. Very breathable. Not much bounce, being stationed in Honduras I couldn't beat it; nor stateside. Second best shoe I've owned. Buying another pair...

The shoes themselves are excellent, well made and comfortable. They are quite "loud" as far as color and design go, but I have a reason: my son is attending Penn State (Blue and White team colors) and his girlfriend is attending University of Delaware (Blue and Gold team colors), so I can support both teams. You can be sure I DO NOT wear them on a daily basis.
