These shoes are great! Plenty of support, excellent sole protection, plenty of room in the toebox, extremely comfortable, and very rugged. The only downside is that the soles are not very grippy on ice.

Overall, I think these make outstanding walking or light hiking shoes, and are comfortable enough to wear all day for any activity.

Really good shoes. I have to wear thick custom insoles and require a shoe with a big toe box so that my feet aren't crowded. You can't tell from the picture but this shoe (in EEE)) has got plenty of room.
In my work, I am on my feet more than eight hours a day with only a few minutes to sit down. I've owned other New Balance shoes that were as comfortable but none that were more so. I highly recommend them.

I am on my feet all day on concrete surfaces, so I was looking for a shoe that would cushion the impact. This shoe is well made, more like a lite weight boot to me, the upper is stiff out of the box, but will soften after use. The sole has provided the comfort I was looking for, my feet are no longer fatigued and aching after wearing them all day long.

I've been a UPS driver for 22 years. I am running all day.I've tried hundreds of shoes.The 977 is the best. They are very comfortable and super light. Waterproof is just an added bonus.

This is a good walking boot for those of us who over pronate. If you typically wear a "Stability" shoe for running, this is a great addition to your daily or hiking collection of shoes.

These are hands down the most comfortable shoe I have ever worn. They are perfect for everyday wear, and they are even better for hiking/outdoors. I love the support they give my feet even on very rough terrain.

These shoes are not only waterproof, they are very warm also. I have completely submerged these in ice cold water that was about 4-5 inches deep and my feet stayed dry and warm! My buddies other waterproof boot leaked and his feet were freezing. Needless to say, that ended our short hike and we went to the house. 3 hours later I realized I still had my shoes on and he had his socks and shoes off drying them out!

To sum it up, I will be buying these shoes for life and if they ever discontinue them, I will buy several (+10) pairs and store them so I won't run out for a very long time.

By the way, I have had my shoes for 14 months and they are just starting to wear, I should be able to get another year out of them (everyday wear).

This is the only high top athletic shoe that I've found that are actually comfortable for people who generally have swollen feet like I do.

These are the most comfortable shoes I have ever had. They didn't need any breaking in.

Best Winter walking shoe that I have worn. When the weather turns cold, wet and sloppy out these are the shoes to wear. Keeps your feet dry and warm. I only wish that the soles would last longer. I now have worn out 3 pairs of these shoes over 5 or 6 years and still think that they are great.

I have really wide feet and these are great! They look nice and wear better. I will buy these again.
