Thank you for your feedback.
These boots are well made, fit as expected, and do not overheat your feet after 8,10 or more hours.
Excellent fit, I am flat footed and they are very comfortable for everyday use.
These fit exactly like all New Balance shoes which is one of the reasons I felt comfortable ordering them.

These are the most comfortable boots I've ever owned. A twelve hour day on my feet going from concrete to hardwood to carpet and my feet feel great. Traction is excellent, ankle support is right and the fit is perfect for me. One of the things I love about New Balance is the ability to mail order them due to the consistency of the sizing. Once you find what fits that's the size you order whichever shoe of theirs you're buying.

These things feel so good I find myself putting them on in non work situations. I'm buying another couple of pairs to have on hand. I'm wearing them so much I'll need to rotate them to keep them fresh if you know what I mean.

Received the boots yesterday, but sending them back today.

My first impression - these boots seem to be made very well, and they look great.
Contrary to some of the previous posts, they actually do say NB on the boot. Little sticker on the inside says "Made in USA", but it is literally a sticker pasted over a stitched-on label on the inside of the tongue, almost as an afterthought.

The construction is very sturdy, and I liked the Vibram sole. Boots are light, and ankle support seems to be adequate if laced properly.

    But here are the problems:
The toes are protected by a very hard shell (the slightly darker area in the picture). That would have been wonderful, had the boot provided any kind of soft lining or minimal padding in that area. When you put your hand inside, and feel around, you will see that the padding ends where the shell begins. There is nothing between that shell and your toes except for a thin layer of fabric. It feels like you are wearing clogs. Very surprising, considering that the rest of the boot feels very nice.

Maybe due to that lack of thickness on the inside of the boot in the front, the size feels bigger that expected. I have many size 10 shoes, casual and athletic, and these felt way too big.

Lastly, right boot was slightly larger that the left.

If the boots had proper padding in the front (toe area) and better fit, I would have kept them, but unfortunately I will have to look for another pair.

I was looking for the most vented and cool boots I could find in the market. After some research, I selected these, and I`m not dissapointed at all. After 8 months of use during my deployment, they remain in very good condition.

    The Pros:
#Superb ventilation! a lot of surface is actually breathable mesh. You can feel the wind.
#lightweight and very flexible! notice the the leather strips where the laces are fixed. They run parallel, there are no vertical hard surfaces other than the rear area. That gives excellent flexibility to the shoe in all directions.
#Very comfortable. After some use, I noticed the little details that make it so good:
-that indentation in the achilles tendon area, to reduce fatigue while walking
-the lace fix points. no hard spots.
-No hard edges on the top part of the boot.
    -plenty of cushion everywhere
#good traction. Havent tried wet, though
#good shock absorption with issued footbeds
    #surprising durable.

    Cons:
    - they are very flexible so don't expect much ankle support. They are useful in hot, dry and relatively flat areas, or urban terrain.
    - slow to dry. Again, they are desert boots.

If they fit your mission profile, you can't be wrong with these. Also, they are no longer in production, so don't miss the chance to grab some!

(15 January, 2010) New Balance purchased OTB Boots. This is a really good deal for both companies. It means New Balance can leverage OTB’s tactical expertise and OTB has access to New Balance’s domestic manufacturing capability. Now you have the answer.

I ordered the Wide and while it is marked wide, this feels more like a standard width. I don't like the tongue either, but they fit snugly with the Wigwam boot socks my girlfriend ordered. The toe and heel have sturdy reinforcement via a hard texturized outer plate. The sole has good traction/ The "leather: eyelets on the boot are reinforced with hard plastic inserts.

My primary concerns for this shoe is longevity - there is no stitch along the sole. This suggests the stitiching is inside or maybe the heel is attached via adhesive only. The width doesn't seem to be a true Wide, so expect a snug fit. Lastly the laces are awful and should be replaced with a more hardened material - if these are truly designed for use in arrid climates, the laces will pick up stickers and goatheadc like crazy.

I'm otherwise pleased with my purchase at $65, I feel these will be adequate workshoes. Pair these with a quality bootsock or oerthotics if you can find one that fits. If I was sure of stitching and construction, I would use a shoe stretch on them to attempt a better sizing.
