The shoe is a comfortable shoe and padded nicely, but the problem I had was with the width in the ankle part of the shoe. That part of the shoe is very wide and felt stretched out. I had to put a sock on to try and take up some of the space in that area.

I used to hate walking, but after 2 difficult pregnancies very close together, I needed to get in shape. I always had difficulty finding a shoe that fit my wide feet comfortably. The varying width of these shoes solved that problem. And finding a walking shoe that is made of breathable mesh was such a blessing. The heel cup has a padded ridge that felt a bit awkward at first, but now I appreciate it--no more heel blisters! All in all, a great walking shoe--I'm hooked, and walking 12 miles a week!

It's difficult to find wide shoes so I was very pleased to get these. I have been a New Balance fan for years, and this shoe reinforces the reason why I keep going back to New Balance. #1 - they are comfortable; #2 - most of them are made in the USA and I really like that fact; #3 - New Balance shoes are available in WIDE widths. I purchased this particular pair of shoes because I had injured my toe but still wanted to go walking especially since I had a trip planned which would require a good bit of walking. I am so happy I had these shoes! Even with thick, good socks, I had plenty of toe room. I also like the color :)
