5.0 out of 5 stars Switched from Sauconys
I am a heavy runner (5.10, 160+) and used to run in Sauconys because they came in wide sizes , had good cushioning, and look pretty good. After trying this shoe I switched. The 10.5 D in the New Balance WR 760 is wider and roomier than the Saucony ProGrid Hurricane size 11 D I tried at the same time. (They cost significantly less, too.) There was enough room for me to...

3.0 out of 5 stars Does the job but not really impressed
I've been using NB stability running shoes for the last 8 years. This might be the most disappointing one I've had. Out of the box the fit was as expected (7D) and similar to other NB 7Ds I've purchased. However, overall comfort I'd rate down. The shoe felt a little flat with very little cushioning. I know that this is not a super cushioned shoe, but it sort of felt worn...

5.0 out of 5 stars Switched from Sauconys, August 12, 2010
I am a heavy runner (5.10, 160+) and used to run in Sauconys because they came in wide sizes , had good cushioning, and look pretty good. After trying this shoe I switched. The 10.5 D in the New Balance WR 760 is wider and roomier than the Saucony ProGrid Hurricane size 11 D I tried at the same time. (They cost significantly less, too.) There was enough room for me to use my orthotics with the supplied insert, providing more cushioning. I was so impressed I ordered 2 more pairs in different colors from Amazon. They are good-looking, especially for New Balance, which I avoided in the past because they were usually kinda ugly, making the fact that I have huge feet even more noticeable. They feel like more expensive shoes.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome and gorgeous at the same time, September 5, 2010
Some background information: I have been running for the past ten years with my German Shepherd dog, and I have been replacing my running shoes consistently every year. I used to be a loyal Nike costumer, always a fan of their Air Max line, which provides overall good stability, but they don't compare to the level of comfort that these shoes offer. These are my first NB's, and I can honestly say that they didn't disappoint in the least. Not only are they b-e-autiful (got them in blue), they also provide amazing stability and the cushioning is also great. The impact against the floor is reduced with each step I take, so my knees have stopped suffering :) I wouldn't recommend the Extra wide size as some other costumers do with NB shoes. The medium width fit pretty well, and I also ordered my usual shoe size. They are most definitely worth every cent spent on them!! Love them!!!

I know that this is not a super cushioned shoe, but it sort of felt worn out -- like the pair I was replacing. Performance is OK. My mechanics don't seem affected by the seeming lack of cushion, just comfort is decreased.

5.0 out of 5 stars New Balance Running Shoe, January 15, 2011
This is my second pair of New Balance running shoes. I upgraded from the 740 to the 760. I absolutely love the comfort of these shoes. They do not require any "break-in" period and are comfortable from the very first time you wear them.

5.0 out of 5 stars Love these shoes, may be SLIGHTLY larger than previous versions?, December 31, 2010

I bought these to replace my NB769's & I am happy with them. I ordered my usual 8B size, and they feel a tiny bit bigger than my old shoes for some reason. I don't know if they actually are a bit bigger or if my old ones had just molded to my feet? In any event, the new ones are not too big to run in & I have had no injuries, blisters, or problems. Recommend wearing new balance dry fit socks with them!

5.0 out of 5 stars Enough cushion and stability for runner with fibromyalgia, December 22, 2010
After many years of 'no exercise' due to fibromyalgia I started back to the gym. My only goal was to 'move more' and now I'm running! It was important to me to have good shoes for this activity and New Balance had always been good to me, so I started my search there.

When I purchased the black/pink version of this shoe I had taken my time to try on many brands of running shoes (Under Armour, Nike, Saucony), looking for stability with adequate cushioning and a roomy toe box. I found that the WR760's fit the bill for me.

Pro's:
+ Very lightweight.
+ Roomy toe box, allows for foot swelling and spread of the forefoot when running.
+ Well cushioned.
+ Made in USA!
+ 5% of proceeds (black/pink model) go to breast cancer research.
+ Comes in multiple widths.
+ Pleasing color choices.
+ Laces are ribbed and stay tied.
+ Stability is adequate for running on the road; no foot roll.
+ True sizing.

Con's:
- Durability may be an issue. I put only 8-10 miles a week on the shoes and can see tread wear after a couple months on the heel.
- Arch support is lower than in some other models. An insert such as: Lynco L400 Sports Orthotic - Size W9 helps a lot. I sometimes use a women's size 9 insert (same as link) in my 9.5 B New Balance shoes, but they did add to the out of pocket cost for the shoes.

These shoes offer me lightweight, cushioned support and leave my feet feeling ready for more. They felt this way out of the box and have not let me down yet after three months of steady use. This has been great, as with my fibro I often have sharp foot pain with light activity, but when I wear these shoes, that has all but been eliminated.

I plan on purchasing more as 'back-ups' as I've never found a shoe for running that I like this much. Nike Shox used to be my choice, but now...it's these for me. Normally I wear a 10 in Nike's but the WR760's are much truer to size and I wear a 9.5-B.

Conclusion:
If you're looking for a lightweight, well cushioned, stable, low mileage training shoe in multiple widths, this shoe may be for you.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great shoes but I miss the 769, March 24, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
For the past few years, I have run 20-30 miles a week on the New Balance WR769 stability shoe, and when that shoe went out of production, I shopped around for new shoes. Ultimately I came back to New Balance, and I think these shoes are the next best thing. I tend to over-pronate a bit when I run, and the stability shoes work well for me. They provide good stability for mid-distance (6-12 mile) runs, but do not have the most stability of all the shoes out there. They have a lower arch than some other running shoes on the market, and are wide at the ball of the foot, and relatively narrow in the heel. Overall a good stability running shoe.

4.0 out of 5 stars Top Performance Good Style, February 16, 2011
Usually i wouldn't purchase a product like shoes online but the deal was to good to pass up. Upon receiving the shoes in the mail i immediately put them on and went for a run. They are comfortable and great for any type of exercise. I especially like that they have a modern look and feel to them. Overall a great shoe and experience.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great shoes!, December 27, 2010
I bought these to jog in, replacing an old pair of NBs. They fit as well as the old ones and perform as well, but are truer to size. I have the pink/charcoal, and they are STUNNING!!! I've found myself wearing them even when not jogging, because they look so good.

4.0 out of 5 stars New Balance, November 23, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This is a pretty great product for the price. Our New Balance store was selling a similar shoe for twice as much and aesthetically there were very few differences. The only thing I would say is that there isn't as much arch support as the newer models so if you have a high arch you may want to look for something else. I have a fairly normal arch and it works perfectly for me!
